I've been on Spark for about six weeks now, but am finding that I need that extra push to lose more now that the initial 10 are gone. I'm hoping this forum will help!
I'm 31 and living in Des Moines, IA. I am a curriculum director after 8 years of teaching, so my body is not used to sitting at a desk all day. I'm hoping to shed about 12 more pounds so I can be at my wedding weight when all is said and done!

New to this team, but not to Spark...
I'm Amy, a 36yr old SAHM with a very energetic 3 yr old son. At my highest pregnancy weight, I was 250lbs (that's when i stopped weighing myself!) and I'm only 5'4". Yo-yo dieter my entire adult life, now committed to a complete healthy lifestyle change.
2 years ago I reached my 1st goal of 130-135 lbs and maintained in that range for almost 2 years. This past fall/winter I gained some back. Have lost a few pounds but the scale has stalled and I need to amp up the cardio & strength training to get the scale moving in the right direction again.
Need to lose 12lbs to get to my 1st goal, then would like to work on trying to shed another 5-10 pounds.
Seems the closer I get to goal, the harder & slower the weight comes off- but am determined to shed this extra baggae for good!
Love the accountability, support, & motivation SPARK provides!
Love making new Spark friends!
Hope everyone is having a great day & hope to get to know alot of you soon!!

HI TEAM!! I'm 38 years old, been married for 17 years, 3kids, 15,11,9. Two years ago I lost 30 lbs but never lost the last 10 to meet my goal. In the last 6 months I've gained back 10lbs. So here's to losing those pesky 20lbs and keeping them off!!

Hey Everyone, I'm Dwayne. I'm back again after i was successful in reaching my weight loss goal, but unsuccessful in maintaining my weightloss. I lost over 80 lbs in 10 months then I gained 20 lbs back. Now I'm back to lose those 20lbs and keep them off this time.

Hello Everyone, my name is Stephanie. I'm 36, in a long-term, committed relationship, no kids, 1 dog and I live in South Lake Tahoe, CA. I joined this team and spark people a couple months ago, and the sort of did nothing. I recently had a wake-up call at a routine check-up when I realized my BMI had finally tipped into the "overweight" category. Well, I've never been real happy with my body, but this I cannot stand. So I'm here to loss 15 pounds and get my body back on track.

Been with Spark for a while but I think I was on the wrong team. Was noticing that the same people have been there for yrs and have had no weight loss. Need a more personal team to interact with. I have about 10-15 to lose and it's the hardest thing to do even tho it seems it should be easy.

Hi, I'm 31 and work from home. I'm recently married and would like to have children in the not-so-distant future. I have been overweight my entire adult life, but fairly healthy and active. I want to learn discipline and get fit.
I am here to get my weight into a healthier range, to reduce my chances of developing weight related illnesses.
My goals involve a lifestyle overhaul. I don't want to have a list of things I didn't do because I didn't put the effort in.
Good habits will spread into the other areas of my life, but this is where I want to begin.

Hello! I'm Sarah, 30 yrs old, wife, mother of 2, full time college student and pulling in 30+ hours of work each week! I've got about 10-15 pounds that I'd like to get rid of and just started getting serious about SP :) I'm excited to start seeing results, but I'm curious about the calories, fat grams, proteins, etc.... that we're supposed to get each day... it seems like a lot to consume if you intend to lose weight.... anybody have any feedback on that?

I also just recently started using SP. I am a 35 year old mother of 3 (11 years, 5 years, and 22 months). I am down to those last stubborn 10-15 lbs, but am more focused on just being healthier.

Hi Team! I joined SparkPeople a while ago but feel behind. Now that I am 155, I realized it was time to get serious about making healthy lifestyle changes. So, here I am back with better focus and looking for all the support I can get!! I look forward to meeting new people and reaching my goal of 135 by July 2010.

Hi Team! I'm new to Spark People so it may take me a bit to figure our how to make the most of this site. I'm excited! I am in my mid 30's and hoping to shed a few pounds. I don't want to buy new jeans if I can simply loose a little weight and use the ones I have. Looking forward to learning from the team.

Hi all! I'm 32 with two boys. I've lost a little over 50 lbs and have about 10 to 15 left to go. Using the tracking tools - I hope to accomplish that by late June 2010.
I work full-time out of the home, the boys are in soccer/hockey, and I am taking two full-time course through university. My day fills up very quickly - but this calorie counting thing seems to make perfect sense to me!
Looking forward to a great 9 weeks!

Hello all, I am new here so forgive me I am still trying to sort things out. I am 39 and a mother of two girls, married and I also work fulltime with a flex schedule. Let's see over the years I have allowed myself to get comfortable in increasing in size and the sad part of it all I can't blame the children in fact while pregnant lost weight and even after labor but somehow the chocolate and sodas called to me and I answered back. This week I decided to do something about it because I realize while trying to capture the growth of my children I was keeping myself from the pictures and videos and when my children look back they will notice I was missing from them although I participated. Made it to the gym everyday this week thus far and figured I do better when I track and a co-worker informed me of this site so here I am. I look forward to future communications. Have a Great day and wonderful weekend.

Hello, just joined today! I am a 39y/o mother of 3. I work full time as a personal health coach. My job motivates me to be better and to work hard towards maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle. I gained a lot of weight with my last 2 pregnancies. I lost interest after that in exercise but I am back in business. My philosophy is if you don't have your health, then you don't really have anything!"

Hello Everyone! I am a 32 year old mother of 3 (ages 8, 5, and 18 months). I have a loving, supportive husband and a very busy career life. I work as an RN, full time teaching freshman nursing students at a local college and per diem as a floor nurse on a Medical Unit in a local hospital. I decided last night to join this program when I came across the website while searching for something else. I love the set up of the site, it reminds me of WW, which I used last year, but hated paying the membership fee. I started this journey in January, when I weighed 195. I am currently at 182, with many more pounds to go. I am setting small goals for myself, so as not to get frustrated or to feel like a failure. We'll see how it goes.

Hello everyone. My name is Scott and I am very new to this site. I lost over 30 lbs about 2 years ago but have since gained back 20 lbs. I really like the structure of this site and I believe I will do great here. I used to have a very active life but then I took a desk job almost 4 years ago and I have ballooned ever since. I am currently training to run/bike in a 6-7 mile adventure race in June. I really need to maintain my focus or I will surely embarrass myself badly. It is nice to meet all of you and hear your stories.

Hello all! I am new here so forgive me if I have not yet learned the ropes. I am a say at home mom of 4. I have a bit to loose and my goal weight tends to fluctuate between 135 and 130 depending on my mood. I have been in the weight loss world for some time now having come down from 280 at my heaviest to 145 at my lightest 2 years ago. Since then life changes have helped me to put weight back on. Health issues defiantly helped me to regain some of the weight. I have run in 6 half marathons and have been on the cusp of becoming a personal trainer for the last year. The big thing that is slowing the goal of becoming a personal trainer is honestly my weight. for me if I am not at my goal it is hard for me to tell others how to get to theirs. In the mean time I am an aerobics instructor teaching Turbo Kick and working on getting my Training in Zumba. I am getting ready to move from California to Rhode island with my family for the military. I hope to hit my goal prior to my move!

Hi, my name is Katrina, and I'm in Memphis TN. I stumbled upon SparkPeople last week while trying to find some running training info, and I'm glad I did! I'm so excited about the amount of information and the easy-to-use tools on here. Not to mention all the support resources...
I lost 50 pounds about 5 years ago by mainly running. I started because I had just turned 30 and was not happy with who I saw in the mirror... I found a lot of "therapy" in the sport, and eventually ran a couple of full marathons. Since then, I pushed myself a little too hard and got hurt. Ever since, I've been a little less-than-committed (and maybe a little gun shy?) and have had a hard time maintaining a consistent plan.
So what I'm hoping to get out of this site is motivation to create and maintain lifestyle changes that will have me healthy and happy for years to come!
Good to meet you all!

Hi Everyone! My name is Keri. I am one of the Team Leaders for this group. I will be 33 in exactly 20 days. I'm also getting married in about 6 and half months. I have a long way to go till I'm "skinny bride" weight. I joined sparkpeople a few years back and have yoyo'd for a long time because I never got totally motivated, or something came up and my life went nuts. I lead a very busy life. I work full time 65+ miles from my house (in the car a lot) and have about 4 part time jobs on the side (one of which is as an Avon Rep so if anyone is interested please let me know - sorry shameless plug). It's crazy but my goal is to be financially independent, not to mention save for a wedding.
As Team Leader I want to welcome all the newbies to the group and let you know that this is a GREAT TEAM! If you need anything please e-mail me and I will help and support anyway possible. Being healthy and happy is my main goal and Sparkpeople is a great place to achieve it.

Hello! Not sure if i'm posting this in the right place or not, i'm very new to this, only joined yesterday.
I'm a 30 something and want to loose a stone. I had aimed to do this by my wedding, but failed! That was 3 weeks ago! Am now trying not to put pressure on myself by setting a target date as will feel rubbish if i miss it again.
I do exercise several times a week, and i dont think i eat badly, but i seem to have reached a sticking point with my weight and just cannot seem to loose any. So any advise, hints or tips would be very gratefully received.

well, i have been seeing a nuturitionist here locally and she has helped me alot!!!!! here are some few things i didnt know before that have help me now! for instance, after we workout, our bodies need to have protein intake immdediatly after the workout! we have 15 to 20 mintutes for our body to have any type of protein. if your body does not take the protein after ur workout, its like u worked out for nothing! ur hurting ur body by not feeding it! and more things i learn thru her let me kno w if anyone willing to know more

Although this is a motivational nightmare it is just that your body has got used to what you are eating and exercising. If you keep at it the weight will begin to come off again. See if there is anyeay you can cut down less on calories or up your exercise. If not then just keep plodding on it will work.

Hello! My name is Jen, I am almost 34 and have 2 beautiful kiddos, almost 4 & 7 years old. I'm not having anymore babies so now is the time to get down to business and get in the best shape of my life! I want to lose 10-13 pounds, but doing that with now willpower or motivation is hard! I have a million DVDs and a treadmill, but they get boring! I love to be outside but during the winter months I like to hibernate so I tend to slack off with the exercise. I'm hoping Spark People will do the trick!
