Hi all,

I'm a nurse and a mother of a 16 year old. I used sparkpeople to lose about 25 pounds so far. (I was scared to get on the scale in the beginning so I'm honestly not sure what I started out at). My goal is to lose another 17 pounds by this fall. I just passed my Navy physical readiness and I am so happy! Now that I've passed and dropped some of the weight I want to focus on losing the last bit of my flubber and toning up. I also want to run 1.5 miles in 13:45 min, do 78 sit ups and 50 really good push ups. My goal is to get to 142 pounds, I'm 5 ft 2. Currently at 159 lbs.

If you didn't make it today, keep trying! You get used to trying and eventually you will do it :)

Hi! I'm a mom of 4 (10, 8, 5, 3) 5'7 and a "born again sparker" ;) I used sparkpeople last year and went from 153 to 131 in a couple months. I intended to get to 125 (my highschool weight!:) but stopped using sp and ended up gaining 7 lb back over the year! Back at it and hoping to kick those final lbs!

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm posting this correctly but my name is Laurie and I'm from California. My starting weight was 144 and from changing my diet (cutting out grains, sugar and processed foods) I've lost 12 pounds so far. I'd like to start working out and drinking more water and lose more fat. It's always been my dream to get my arms and butt in phenomenal shape and I've never been motivated enough to do it. I usually get to the point I'm at now and say "eh, that's good enough" but I never feel my best! Now that I'm in my mid thirties my butt is starting to get really square and flat and my arms have a little cellulite! I don't like it and it's time to change it! Going to my first weight lifting class tonight...I truly believe that together we can do this!!!!

Hello, my name is Carolin. I'm 35 and turning 36 this summer. My kids are grown and it's time to focus on me. I've always been of average weight 120-125. Always lived a pretty active life. Two years ago I moved across the country and from week one in my new state I started gaining weight. Not sure why, my habits stayed the same. In the first 90 Days I gained 10 pounds and two years later I'm weighing in at 146-148lbs. My goal is to return to my 120-125 average weight and maintain it. To help me reach my goal I've started drinking more water and going strong the last 2 days with a cardio workout. I weighed myself this morning and I'm already down a pound. Yay !!

Good luck

Hey everyone! I'm Kristen, I'm 32 and live in Montana. I'm married with two kiddos. I joined SP to make some healthy changes in my life and to keep them up. My first goal is to lose 25 lbs by April. After that, I think I'll try for some more. Motivation to keep going is where I struggle. I could use some friends to help!

Keep up the good work, Sparkers!

Hey Everyone. My name is Patricia. I need to lose more than 20 pounds but have set my goal at 20 pounds so I won't feel so overwhelmed and become discouraged to stop. I am easily to become uninterested in losing weight especially when I am not seeing results as I think I should. I joined SparkPeople yesterday and hope I can stay with it.I wish you all the best of luck.

Hi :) Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ula and I'm 31. I want to lose 20 lbs, at least. But the most important for me is to chane my lifestyle. I used to be very active, but after I've changed my job (now I spend time at work mostly in front of a computer, unfortunately), I began to gain weight and bacame lazy. Painful but true... Now it's time to do something with it. I enjoy exercising and eating healthy, but I usually struggle with motivation. That's why I'm here. I hope we can help each other to reach our goals :) God luck everyone!

The only way to finish your workout is to start...

I have hunger issues as well. I fight it best when I only have healthy food choices around the house and I also refuse to eat after 8 pm anymore. In the past I have done this by keeping busy with hobbies and by putting $20 in an envelope every payday as a reward for keeping my healthy and portion controlled diet. If I have one mess up day, I do not get the extra twenty to spend later. The money I use when I get to my weight goals to buy something new to wear. Clothes are difficult for me to buy on my tight budget, and this motivates me. I am starting over again in my journey. I got married and had a second child and put 20 pounds back on.

~Have a wonderful day~

Hi everyone! I'm a 30-year-old guy living in California, and lost about 20-25 pounds through SparkPeople about a year ago. After that, I've been in a big plateau of both weight and motivation. I recently started getting my butt back to the gym, doing mostly weight training because that's what keeps me excited about it, and starting to track my foods again. Any suggestions for keeping that motivation going, especially regarding hunger? I get bored and "snacky" all the time, especially in the evenings. Looking forward to getting back into it and making more progress!

Hang in there, one day at a time...

I've been off and on sparkpeople but I'm back. I'm aiming at losing 20 lbs from this point. Breaking down my goals to take them bit by bit.My personal target is Atleast 140lbs for now but sparkpeople suggest 126 for my age and height, that's a tall one though but I'll take it one day at a time. Lost 8 pounds like in 3 months, I'm glad and taking it slow.

Hello,
I`m Abby. Mom to 3 wonderful kids -7,5 and 3. I`m looking to lose 16 pounds or more to get in the healthy weight for my height. I was a skinny kid, had kids and bam! I got hit all over by fat. I`m also hypothyroid..one of my excuse but no more. So far I have lost almost 6lbs in the last month with diet control and exercising on my exercise machine. I plan to lose all the weight this way. I`m doing it slowly this time.

Hello! My name is Tina, I'm 39 and weighed in at the Dr's office today at 140. Last week when I was there it was 136. I want to get down to somewhere in the 115-120 range and be fit enough to run a marathon Spring 2015.

I also got back unpleasant cholesterol numbers, so now I have more than just vanity driving my goals. I am here to shape up and get healthy!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Marlena. I am 37 years old, divorced mother looking to lose around 15 pounds of fat. I am 5'1" and currently weight 132; I wear a size 4-6 but desperately want to lose the fat on my stomach and thighs. I know I need to workout more but I just don't have the time to do it. My children are 14 and 11 and they keep my on my toes. I love being active as that puts me in a happy mood. I work in my children's school so I'm very blessed to see them everyday.

I live in southwestern NY if anyone is in the area; I'd love to workout together. :)

Hello!

My name is Erin and I've been casually using Spark for years. Although I've learned a lot about what I should do, I haven't put too much of it into practice. I'd love to lose 15 pounds, then reevaluate my weight goal from there, but I also love beer and wine and being lazy! I did run and finish a half marathon in October and I don't want to lose what I built up while training to finish that race!

I'm also currently living in Japan, so if anyone else out there is too, I'd love to talk recipes and workouts (since familiar ingredients can be hard to find and gym costs are high).

Hello Everyone! My name is Sharon, I am 32 years old. I need to go from 214lbs to 155lbs. I am very active with my two beautiful daughters who I keep active. I have not mastered eating healthy. I have had the luxury of eating whatever I would like and never gaining a pound until I turned 30. I have to do a lot of workouts at home due to my girls crazy sports and club schedules. I have an elliptical and workout videos. I hope this helps me with staying motivate and on task.

Hi Everyone,

I am thirty eight and I have been trying to lose 20 lbs. For the last 2 years. I finally hit the point to where it became less about the scale and more about the definition of my body. However, I was in a bad car accident several weeks ago. I haven't been able to do anything. With that being said, someone else has been cooking for me. I love my husband but he is not on the bandwagon of healthy eating. Needless to say I have had a few more pounds creep back. There isn't much I could do about it then. Still not a lot I can do now but, I can cook and walk. Thats what I am going to do. I may not have lost the 20 lbs I wanted to but I looked and felt good. Right now, I don't feel good, probably from eating crap and I don't look good. This week is a new week, I am going to log my food and walk!

When I recover, I am a busy mom of 2 boys, I work for the Ymca and the school the boys attend. I volunteer a lot to anyone and everything. I like to stay busy and active, it makes me feel good. I am fortunate to have a man who loves me for me, we have been married for 14 years. He has seen the fat me (heaviest 261), the ugly me and the me that I have found and love. I need to go back to that girl, she was happier. I didn't have much choice in the matter of these last several weeks, but I am recovering and seeing improvement!

To a better life!

Hello

Well I am turning 31 in 3 weeks time and I started loosing weight 6 weeks ago and 5lbs down so far. Over the past 7 years I have repeatedly gained and lost 2 stone- I want to kick those unwanted pounds for the long haul!

I did the dukan diet a few years ago and it really worked from the first day which made the high restrictions managable.

This time around I want to kick start my weigtht loose with 3 weeks of Dukan (started on Saturday) and then into a low carb diet- which hopefully will be easier coming form 3 weeks of virtually no carbs!

However its not going as well as it has done previously for me. Previously by this point I would be -3-5lbs down and i'm just -0.2lb down which is really disheartening. I know I am not eating anything wrong and I have been drinking plenty of water and doing my cardio!

I am hoping this will pick up and I can have the start I wanted and that my dedication pays off!

Ps I put my weight in as Stones and lbs and for some reason my ticker says kgs- its not kgs!!!

Hi!
I started my original journey in 2009 and lost around 60 pounds before by my 30 birthday. Knew I wasn't done but was happy with where I was. Sort of worked at getting the rest of the weight off, but managed to do no more than maintain my original loss. Now I need to get the last 15 or so pounds off. :) Going into week 2 and feeling pretty good. I am a little bit concerned because my husband and I are taking our girls on vacation soon.. to Hershey PA. Chocolate Central... Uh-oh... I probably wont track my eating on vacation but am hoping to be mindful and controlled.

Hi everybody,
A desk job, too many snacks and pregnancy added an unwelcome 20 lbs! The real struggle for me will be eating well and avoiding mindless snacking. I've never used a program like this and I look forward to holding myself accountable. Thanks! emoticon

Hello -- I'll be 33 this September, no kids (yet), and at the end of a long weight loss journey. I started in Jan. 2011 at 179 and thought I'd go down to 135. Ups and downs, gaining and losing, over the last couple years, and I'm down to 140 now. I have revised my estimate of my goal weight to 125-130 now (125 to lose, but I'm figuring 130 by the time I tone up since muscle weighs more). I've been fluctuating again, mostly because I'm lazy and like to eat, no surprise there. My girlfriend is getting married in October and wants me to wear a short strapless dress as a bridesmaid. So I'd like to at least get to 130 by then if possible! It may not be, because I have two months. I exercised pretty well the beginning of the summer, but then hurt my ankle running a week ago, so didn't exercise last week. Hoping to get back moving this week, if not running. I think my stride is to blame; this is the third time since November. So long story short, I have about 10-15 pounds to go and whatever I can lose by October will be fantastic. I'd love to have to take my dress in! emoticon

Hello! I am 30(something) 39 in a couple of months. I have a 9 year old son and 5 year old daughter about to start kindergarten. I used Spark about 4 years ago and lost the baby weight but with asthma and respiratory issues (and comfort eating when I felt to yuck to go to the gym) I have put on about 20 lbs in the last couple of years. My health issues are stabilized and do zumba regularly. The kids go to school in 6 weeks and would love to lose 12 lbs which seems very doable. So here I go! emoticon

Hello, I have heard of spark people for the last 5 years and got introduced by me by an in-law. I ended up with a new sign on because of trying to find healthy meals for my husband with acid reflux disease and he has officially been limited to what he can eat. So that means I have to change the family ideas on what to eat. When looking in a brochure that I rec'd it sent me to sparks home page. I thought cool. I do need to lose about 20 lbs. It seems I haven't gotten rid of my 5 months belly from 5 years ago. So with this change in my husbands lifestyle so has to be mine. New trick with him is going walking together.

Hello,

I've been regularly using Sparks for a year and I've lost 80lbs. But in the last 3 months, things have been difficult and the weight has slowly creeped back up - 10lbs. I know in part is because I'm bored with my menus and the other part is no emotional eating. The more frustrated I get with the scale - the more I eat when I get stressed. This has got to stop and I need to stay focused. I never used the team pages before but I need to get myself back on track and I know that many successes have used the boards. So, I'm setting a goal to be on this team at least 3 times a week: to share, to read what you all are doing and to get my groove back. I've never been this close before and I need to do this.

Looking forward to learning about you all.

Taking it one step at a time.

Hello. I'm at my highest weight since pregnancy and I'm ready to do something about it. I just weighed in at 125lbs and I'm 5'1". The weight isn't what bothers me though nor was it the "last straw" for me. The "last straw" is that I'm tired of feeling tired and having this very large bulge in my mid-section. I look like I'm pregnant and as a mommy to a 19-month-old, I'm really struggling. So I'm going to start today and see what progress I can make. I've been making a lot of poor food choices and so that needs to change now, too. Looking forward to this journey!

~Michelle~

Hello! I am starting over after 3 weeks completely off my plan. I started Jan 1, 2013 at 144lbs...by March 1 I was down 10lbs and by May I was down to 129. During the month of May we had family in town for a visit, went on a trip to New Orleans with my husband and then had a week of just trying to get back to "normal". So here it is 3 weeks later and I am up 5 lbs and completely off track!! I am ready to get started again. I actually reset my goals and started my plan all over using my new starting weight as 135 and new goal as 120. I will happy though just to get these 5 lbs back off!! What a difference it makes!

Hi I am 5'6" and 178. Looking to get down to 145. I am at a point where I need to change the unhealthy pattern in my life. I am the mom of 3 kids and want them to see me working to be healthy and enjoying life. I will turn 40 on Aug 31 and have decided to train for a sprint triathlon. I am a water aerobics instructor but my main job is sitting at a desk most of the day. I am looking for support and encouragement to keep my eye on the prize of finishing a triathlon.

Hello there! I'm 5'3 and currently 135 pounds. I'd like to be down to 120 maybe less! it sounds very daunting at the moment, but I'd love to buddy up with someone to talk about challenges, food changes, and getting to the gym on time! I feel like I haven't had a whole lot of support from other people in life regarding weight loss and support. Sometimes it's hard to get the "right" sort of encouragement. One that isn't about punishment or feeling bad, but rewarding the effort no matter the outcome. Personally I'm tired of feeling a little uncomfortable about my body and I'd like to change that without driving myself crazy! Let me know if you want to buddy up! I'm all ears!!!

I just want to say hi to all of you! This site was recommended to me by my friend (though i'm not sure if she's still on here) and i must say that this is one awesome site. I really hope that I can reach my goals with the help of this site ( though of course i know that it would still be largely up to me) but i am also looking forward to be motivated by all of you:) I know that each of us has their own story and our ultimate goal is be to be happy and to be the best person that we can be^^ Now, may i know if anyone is free or would be willing to be my accountability partner? Thanks in advance!

I have just recently overcome addiction and put on 15 to 20 extra pounds in the process. I've been extremely fortunate to have this be the first time I have struggled with my weight. However it doesnt make it any less difficult especially since after turning 30 my metabolism went south real quick. I want to loose about 23 pounds and get down to 130. I realize how I feel is more important than what the scale says, but this time the scale coincides with how I feel and thats lousy. So! Congratulations to everyone out there striving forward and making better choices I'll be right here with ya

Hello - I am re-joining spark, kinda sorta, anyway. I was on it and then have been slacking and gained about 10-12 lbs since September. I had joined WW and tried that but decided that wasn't it for me. I lost a lot of weight on spark previous so I decided with a new start deserves a new page! That way there is no looking back on past failures. I can only go forward from here. I am very excited to be getting healthy again.

Hi, I've just started. I'm 38, single and a tenure track college professor, trying to lose dissertation weight.... that I gained three years ago. :( I'd like to lose 20 lbs. I've been doing a low carb/paleo diet this week. Tomorrow morning, I'll hit the gym for the first time in months. That should be interesting.

Hello - I am three days into my SP journey. The first two days were perfect... today was hard... I'm pretty sure at one point a person's head changed to a ice cream cone as they walked by man. Thank goodness I didn't lick them. HA I hope it gets easier.

Hi everyone! I am 38 with 3 kids and am desperately trying to find my real body! I never had an issue losing weight or even being motivated to exercise until after my 3rd child was born. I do not even know who's body I see in the mirror and it is very depressing. The other sad fact is that my 3rd child is 5 years old, so not near an excuse. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Hello All :)
I am a working mother of four and I go to school part time. I have lost 71lbs on my own by counting calories and working out daily. I have hit a slump lately with about 10-15 lbs to go and I have recently registered for both a 5k and a 4 mile obstacle coarse race with no running experience. I came here in hopes of finding that extra motivation and support that I need to push myself to my goal weight as well as to train for these two events. I look forward to working on this team's goals together with all of you.

I successfully lost 13lbs here in 2007 with logging my food, staying within my calorie range, and running 3x a week. I did that in 2 months! Between 2007 and today I've slowly put on all that weight PLUS and extra 4 lbs!!!

I am back to dominate my weight and get back to a weight that I am comfortable in :)

Hey All, I am a full time small business owner of a Baby Boot Camp and a mom to 2 little girls. I spend all day motivating everyone around me and have nothing left to motivate myself at the end of the day. I have started exercising less and eating more. I put on 10 lbs since I took ownership of my company. I am hoping by getting active in a few groups, I will find my inner drive to lose the weight and get back to being healthy and happy!

If you are tired of starting over, stop giving up!

Well this is my 3rd time around the block! I will celebrate my 36th birthday next month and I am at my highest weight ever (aside from when I was pregnant)! I struggle with losing weight because I am a busy mom of 2, work full-time outside of the home and have a husband who can eat anything and never gain an ounce which makes eating healthy very hard! I struggle a lot at work b/c I am constantly surrounded by temptations and it is very easy to give in! I am committed (I pray) to getting back to my pre-wedding weight and maybe even more! I need all of the encouragement I can get and I will try my best to reciprocate! Thanks all!

Hi everyone! A little more than eight months ago I set out to lose weight. So far I have lost about 30 pounds, which is a little more than half way to my goal. I have about 20 more pounds to lose. I have been using sparkpeople.com to track my food and activity, but thought I would venture over to the community area now.

Looking forward to working with everyone to meet our health goals!

I'm getting to my upper 30's. Lost a lot over the first 4 years of weight loss, now its creeping back up on me because I'm not consistent with my choices.

I'm realizing I need to be dedicated to it for the long haul and am super pumped that SparkPeople has such awesome people to just let me float around and get support.

You need support? I'm here for you to.
Have a beautiful Monday everyone! emoticon

Have an awesome day,

I'm not in my 30's, I'm not in my 30's, I'm not in my 30's. Who am I kidding, my 30's are here and now is the time to have my best life. Bring it on 30's! I have about 20 pounds to lose and I tend to flake out when I hit a set back. I'd like to be accountable to a team so I have someone to turn to when I struggle and encourage others along the way. I'm hoping for the best so here goes nothing! Wish me luck! Best wishes to you all!!!

Skinny all my life, even after kids, but in my 30's something happened. I started to gain weight. So I dieted, exercised, looked great, stopped. It happened again. And again. 2 years ago I did p90x and the fat smash diet and had great success. I need to get motivated again. Hoping this site will give me the motivation and accountability that I need.

I am have been on here about 2 weeks. I have a 3 year old son and 2 step daughters. I am married and have been for 7 years. I want to lose 23 lbs by April. I lost between 2 lbs. the first week and have not lost since. I am not doing perfect with my eating and exercise but I am doing a lot better than I was previously. I am an instant results type person so I am getting a bit discouraged. Anyway, not giving up, just want to see changes in diet and exercise are working. Good luck to everyone!

I've been lurking on SparkPeople for several years. Probably when SparkPeople came into being. I just decided to join because I have been struggling these last 2 years in reducing my weight and would like to have an extra method of accountability. I am carrying 20 extra pounds of depression weight and weigh in at 162.5 at this moment. I packed on most of the weight during a tragic period in my life in 2010 through last year. I'm 34, 5' 3.5", am at my heaviest, am considered "slightly overweight" and am working through some lifestyle changes necessary to lose the weight and maintain a healthier, happier weight. Life is improved, but I'm stuck with 20 lbs of baggage.

I'm joining the "20 lbs in 10 wks" challenge, but I admit that my confidence is a little shaky because of the combo of positive habits I've enforced and negative habits that I have dropped thus far have not led to any weight loss in this past year. Especially when you consider the frequency and intensity at which I exercise. My top 2 struggles are reigning in the emotional eating and my 20 year relationship with insomnia. Really frustrating, but I'm slowly improving.

Hello! I re-joined Spark People in November, after a 2 yr long sabbatical. I had a lot of success tracking my food when I first joined, so I am doing that again. I gained about 20 lbs during a particularly stressful year of working in nyc while my husband was working in another state. I think I turned to food for comfort during stress. Working 80 hour weeks did not help me maintain my fitness, and I feel frustrated that I gained so much weight. AND on top of that, I am embarrassed to mention I got laid off from the job responsible for all the stress & weight gain! (extra frustration)

I'm lucky that I found a new job really quickly, and the hours are much saner. I have a much more balanced life now, and my husband was also able to find a job in the same state! yay!

I started running over this past summer, but then injured my hip and so wasn't able to really work out. That made watching my diet even more important. I am healing, and able to go to the gym again, so I hope to start losing 2 lbs a week soon.
So far, progress has been slow.... but, I guess I can be happy that I stopped gaining emoticon

Great to meet all of you!

I've been a Sparkpeople user for a few years but have fallen off, due to job and just general laziness.

While I haven't gained any weight since I was last an active user, I haven't lost any either.

I'm back because I want to improve my running, do a triathlon, and be a healthier person.

I know I'm going to need support and a couple kicks in the butt, so I'm hoping my fellow SparkPeople can help me.

have a FITastic day!

Hi,
I started SparkPeople last summer but then got sidetracked by my job hunt. Now that I'm employed and settled into my job, I'd like to get back on track!

Through a year of grad school and adjusting to a much more sedentary job than I'm used to, I've gained about 17 pounds in the past year and a half. I don't feel confident a lot of the time and feel uncomfortable in my own skin. Luckily I have a great partner; he loves me the way I am now but supports me in my mission to lose 15 pounds.

I'm using SparkPeople to track my food and exercise, which is really helping me be mindful. I'm aiming to exercise at least 10 minutes every day, but at least 280 minutes a week. So far, so good!

Hi!!!! I'm new...I just found this web site surfing the net and at the moment I find it great!!!
I've decided to change something in my life...today is my last sunday spent just relaxing on the sofa...I need to change many things...and I think I can have an help in here writing and sharing my experiences with other peple having the same problems with weight...
It's a long war for me...started when I was very young...I've been overweight for a long time.. when I was 20 I was 109 kg... I was desperate and I started to change my life stile, eating better moving and stopping be fraightned by life and I gained a good result...but I'm still overweight...not that much but in the last year I had some problems...and again to escape from my emotion I just stop thinking and I eat...
I would like to stop with this wrong approach to my life...my kilos are just the most visible part of my problems... and since I can't annoy all the people I have around with problems they can't understand...I hope here...with other womens who live the same situation I can discuss and try to go on and then keep calm and sto eating chocolate ;)
I know I can do it, I already did it... But this must be my radical transfromation...just to be myself...comfortable inside me and with other people ...sorry I wrote too much...and this is just the beginning!!!
Goog work to all of you!
Love
Lucy emoticon

Hello! I had my fabulous baby boy in February and now I'm gunning to get back in shape! I'm hoping fellow sparkers can help me win half off race registration for the Palmetto 200 so I can have that as my goal to work towards.

Just like my post on FB: http://tinyurl.com/bsyoof6

The race is a 200 team relay and I hope to run my three legs in sub 10 min/miles. I just hope I can win 50% off registration so I can afford to go!

Thanks all! I'm excited to lose some weight, run some miles and get back in shape :)

Help me win by liking my FB post. I can get 50% off my race registration for my team! https://www.facebook.com/permalink.p

Hi all. I'm new to this site and want to find support from others to help me stay motivated to lose weight and get fit. Currently at 199. Goal is 135. But I'm looking to shed at least 20 by Christmas or new years. Anyway... looking for a weightloss or workout buddy. My other buddy flamed out and then moved so now it seems nerve wracking to find someone close by who likes zumba and walking to workout with. emoticon

I am so glad to join this group, I am switching over from the 25-50 lbs to lose group. Wohoo! I have successfully lost 33 lbs so far and only have 16 more to go. Finally I have changed over after becoming confident that my weight loss is for real. After being so heavy for so long it is a switch to feel and act my weight. Sometimes I feel like I am in a dream zone. I have not been this light since I was in my early twenties.

In this group I hope to get to support I need to stay motivated and continue my healthy lifestyle. By January I hope to have shed the remaining pounds.

Wohoo for eating healthy.

Hi All. I'm a marathon runner just finishing a house renovation and in the process of moving myself cross-country. I've been trying to lose 20-25 lbs since MARCH, you would think for someone who runs 45 miles a week and has been putting in a lot of strength work remodeling a house that would be easy - but nope.

It's not my diet/cheating either, because I watch every calorie.

I have started losing some with calorie cycling. Hope it continues. I am so tired of this extra weight!!!

It is frustrating seeing shows like Biggest Loser when people lose all of what I want to lose in like 2 weeks, not that I watch that show regularly but just saying. Yes I know they starve themselves and over-exercise but still... or seeing people blog on this site saying they ate chocolate cake yesterday and still lost three pounds... sometimes it just gets old doing everything and not seeing the scale move!!

My strengths: amount of time exercising, disciplined with my diet, commitment to losing it!
My weaknesses: stress, enabling/unsupportive family members, lacking social network and upcoming instability of diet due to moving and living temporarily with my sister.

I am married, with no children (yet), 31 years old working really hard to reach my goal weight before we even start trying to have children. I have lost so far a total of 57lbs since September 2010. It has been a long process, but it has been well worth it. I lost about 20 lbs in the spring rather quickly, but since then have lost another 10 rather slowly. I'm hoping the challenge of 20lbs in 10 weeks will help me to knock off the next 24lbs that I have left. My goal is to have it all done by October 31! We shall see.

Weight as of 1/11/13 - 175.6
1st goal 168 lbs on 2/1/13 -
2nd goal 165 lbs on 2/14/13 - Valentine's Day!
3rd goal 162 lbs on 3/1/13 -
4th goal 158 lbs on 4/1/13 -
Final goal 155 lbs on 5/1/13 - My birthday month!

Hi all. I'm 34 years old and have lost 80 pounds in one year. I'm not a fan of having a "goal weight" but I am aiming for a range of the lower 120's. After hitting this plateau (again!) I have turned to SP to keep my motivation and find new ideas for healthy eating and workout routines to tone up my new body.

It's not about how fast I get there. It's not about whats waiting on the other side. It's the climb.

Hi! I just joined SP late last night. My goal is to reach my goal weight of 155. I would love to weigh less than that, but I'll be happy reaching 155. I have a Fitbit and that is one of the best inventions ever! I work out just about every day & if there is one day I don't work out I feel guilty. I started working out & watching what I eat about 2 weeks ago. Fridays are my weigh in days! Please add me as a friend. I am still trying to figure this out & it's harder without friends. Any questions, feel free to ask :)

Hello...I'm a transplant from Babyfit. I have 2 kids and I'm halfway to my 20lb weight loss goal!

It's been really tough dealing with these extreme summer temperatures and still staying motivated to exercise...but...I'm sticking with it!

hi.. my name is jessie, I am a mom of 3 boys. i currently stay at home, but have a degree in social work. I plan to go back to work, next year.

i am starting over again. i am close to my highest weight, 175, which was my weight before i got pregnant with my first child. i lost a bunch in between my first and second.. and have slowly gained it back since. The other day i was trying to get dressed to go somewhere and realized that I have like one pair of shorts that fit. so now i have to do something.. i am to cheap to buy new clothes.

although my ticker says 165, my long term goal is 145-150.

Hi all!!! I am 32 and have a little weight to lose (19 pounds). I am a full time teacher, wife and mom of 3. I didn't have much trouble losing the weight after the 1st 2 kiddos, but when trying for #3, we lost 3 babies and I gained a lot of weight during that time. Now, after baby #3, I'm struggling to get the weight off. My hope is to get to my goal weight by the time he is 2 (that gives me 5 months). I started tracking my calories with another site just over a month ago and have lost 5 1/2 pounds and 7 inches. I am hoping this site has more communication and support. I look forward to "meeting" everyone!!! Let's do this together!

Hello, I am joining SP yet again in order to avoid slipping any further than I have since last fall (gained 10 lbs after having lost 48 lbs) but most importantly to regain my sense of me. I am hoping to gain more energy, more motivation and more control all while loosing weight.

Good luck everyone! emoticon

I just started SP today. I am 38 and have been struggling with my weight for almost 18 years! I have tried EVERYTHING and would lose a few pounds then gain it back and then some. I am a stress eater and finally just accepted that recently. I am ready to completely change my life 40's right around the corner and want to be 40, fit and fabulous! :)

After coming across the iphone app for spark I decided to download the book and just started reading it and feeling this is exactly what I need! I am excited to begin my new chapter!!

This is my first time even commenting on forums I am hoping this will help me stay motivated!!

Hello! I just set up a SP account this afternoon. I'm super excited and love the idea that I can post and share my success/ struggles with others that have the same goal as I do. I am a full time Mom, Teacher, and Wife. Busy is the word that describes me. I've struggled with my weight most of my life. I always seem to do better during the summer because I'm not working and I can hit the gym 5 days a week. However, when school starts - it all hits me - like a brick wall tumbling slowly on me. I am determined to continue my weight loss journey even when school starts. I always put everyone and everything else first - now it is my turn. I'm excited to hear back from others. Thanks!

I've been on SP for a while now. It really helped me lose weight for my wedding. Since then I have had 2 kids (1 and 3) and while I have lost all my pregnancy weight I would love to get back into the shape I was in for my wedding which was 4 years ago (lose about 10 pounds and get toned). Looking for motivation to get back at it and hopefully find some like minded sparkers to work with.
