Thanks for the info - that is great advice. I am a little overwhelmed with all of the stuff there is on this site - I have already spent way too much time on it today. I will take your advice and use this first week to get acclimated to the site and tracking what I am already doing - good idea. Thanks again!

Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.

Hi! I just joined this morning and am excited to try this out. I have a pretty good workout schedule in place (currently training for my 3rd marathon), but need to get my food intake under control. I stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in 8 months and was shocked to see that I am currently at my heaviest ever. I knew that I had been gaining weight - I can see the chub around the middle and my clothes were not fitting, but I did not know just how much I had gained. My 40th birthday is in March and it is my goal to hit it healthy and fit. I am hoping that being a part of this community will give me the motivation that I need to meet that goal.
