Take this first week to familiarize yourself with the tools here. Once you get used to using them, it becomes easier to use them even when you are busy. Personally, I spent my first week learning to use the tools, and just tracking everything I was already eating and doing for exercise. It gave me a baseline to work from. It also gave me a chance to really decide what my goals were, and how to get there.

You can not change yesterday - it's done.
You can only dream of tomorrow.
The only day you can change is today.
What are you going to do today to reach your goals of tomorrow?
It's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it GREAT

Welcome to the team and good luck on your journey! Also, big congrats on quitting smoking. That is incredibly tough!!

Hi everyone, I've only been a member for a day, but I think I'm already addicted! I've went back to last Friday and entered in all my fitness times, and entered my calories etc. Loving the site, articles, and so far everything else I've seen.
I'm looking forward to tracking my progress.
I quit smoking 2 months ago, and have gained about 7 lbs, so I'm hoping to lose that and the additional 15 lbs I could benifit from losing as well, but I also want to be HEALTHIER! I will be the first to admit that I have (had) horrible eating habits, plus my current employment involves sitting at a desk all day, so every bit of exercise counts, I don't take the elevator, I walk the 3 flights of stairs and am forcing myself to drink lots and lots of water.
I think with Sparkpeople, I will reach all my goals, and hopefully encourage the rest of my family and friends to join as well.
Looking forward to getting healthier with you all!
