Hello everyone!!! I am Whitney! I go by LC. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters with a loving husband whom is in the military. I am super excited to be a part of this team!

I have been overweight the majority of my life. I've tried to tackle it numerous times and would succeed for a while then, I got pregnant with my daughters both times that I was doing really well. I've made excuses for years now, and finally decided it is time to put myself first and take care of me, so that I can truly enjoy life with my children and be there for them as they grow into beautiful young women.

I hit my highest weight around January of last year at 292 pounds. Shortly after, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. That diagnosis changed my life completely! I had to change everything about how I eat. It took a toll on me emotionally. I lost about 40 pounds at first, then when I moved from the city I've been in pretty much my entire life, depression hit hard, and I gained most of it back.

In July of last year, I had the pleasure of marrying my best friend of the last 6 years, my husband. When we got our wedding photos back, all I could do was cry, seeing how big I was. I've known I was a large woman, but I never saw it like that. It was a true wake up call, and that is when I truly began my journey to a healthier life!

My journey officially began again on August 8, 2015. To date, I have lost 51 pounds, but still have 84 to go to get to my goal! I look forward to making lasting friendships and getting to know you all more!

I'm 28 years old and have struggled with my weight all of my life. I can never remember a time when I didn't feel like that "fat girl" of the group or comparing myself physicaly to others. I'm good at trying anything to see if it works, but as soon as I hit a wall with weight loss I tend to lose interest and give up. I'm hoping this is what I need to stay motivated and on track! Hi everyone. I joined SparkPeople in 2008, left, came back in 2012 to prepare for my wedding, left again, and now I am back. I am currently 319lbs which is my heaviest ever. I was losing weight in 2012/2013, but after finding out I had cancer and having to quit my jobs I just kind of gave up on taking care of myself. I am in remission now, and after working in a city office for a year I quit to start a doctoral program full-time.

My husband and I found out I have a limited shot at getting pregnant - I was told at 16 I was infertile, but found out in December it's not true. I have about a year before I will be in early menopause, at 29. Before we can begin fertility treatments I have to meet a min-max BMI range that has me dropping down to at most 200-250lbs, but preferably 175-200lbs. It's going to be quite an adventure and a lot of really hard work.

I'm gonna be honest, I think all bras are a pain to try to find a proper size for. No 2 are exactly alike. And let's face it, when your weight fluctuates it can really make that once was a perfect fit bra into a nightmare. Sports bras, I kinda just peruse the clearance rack at Target. At least then I'm keeping my costs down a little.

Hey guys. My name is Katie.
I was always kind of chubby growing up. When I entered high school, I got diagnosed with ADD and I was put on a medication that makes you feel pretty not-hungry during the day. That led to me losing some weight and being a "normal" or "ideal" size. I wouldn't say that I had anorexia, but in retrospect, I definitely recognize some anorexic tendencies in myself. When I got to college, I was battling depression and kind of just ate whatever I wanted. Which led to me gaining an insane amount of weight. I'm a junior now, and I'm done with this. I'm done with fluctuating back and forth between feeling like not eating is the only way to lose weight, and just not caring.
I want to learn how to live healthily, but I'm also struggling with feeling judged and stuff. I know this is probably not true, but every time I step outside to run, I feel like everyone's watching me. My school has an awesome gym, but I haven't even gone because I'm so afraid of people seeing me and responding negatively. I've told myself so many times that I'm going to make a positive change, but excuses always get in the way.

Sidenote: does anyone else think it's ridiculously hard to find a sports bra in your size? Like, I don't want to have to go to a special store or spend a bunch of money for an article of clothing that I'm going to need several of.

Right now, I think I'm hovering around 200/maybe slightly more than that. I'm 5'8.
If I want to be successful, I need to be honest, and reach out. I need to find a community, which is why I'm here, I guess.

Hi there :) I am Simone, 24, soon to be 25, mum of 8 month old baby boy Jaydan from Christchurch, New Zealand. My journey started on 19th of October when I suddenly became very sick with gallstone pancreatitis. I had to switch to a low (virtually no) fat diet straight away to allow my pancreas to heal then kept it up partly out of fear of a reoccurring pancreatitis attack and partly because I had my gallbladder removed a month later and my body simply could not handle fat the way it used to. Don't get me wrong with a baby I had every intention of cleaning up my bad habits... just when he was a bit older lol. In the days leading up to my attack I had just started a new workout program but had to put it off while I recovered. I weighed 113kg at the time.Fast forward 15 weeks and I am now already 10kgs lighter, in week 3 of my workout program and have just extended my diet to reduce carbs and sugar as well and increase protein. I've also had to cut out 90% of gluten because after my gallbladder removal it just doesn't agree with my stomach any more. It's been a very hard 15 weeks and I have been tested every step of the way but I am lucky to have a very supportive partner who has helped so much and has given up a lot with me. But the fact of the matter is that I just can't go back to the way I used to be, I have no choice, unless I want to make myself really sick and well, I'd rather not. So anyway that's my journey so far and I look forward to continuing my journey with you all :)

Hi, I'm Jaclyn. I'm 28, 5'5 and 180lbs. I've tried several weight loss programs with little luck due to lack of support. Habitually find myself eating fried food and drinking sweet drinks more than water. People around me constantly say I just need to run more and run it off but it really isn't that easy to run 10 miles at this weight and not being very fit to begin with. (Hope I'm putting this in the right spot.) My name is Lindsey. I'm 26 years old, about 5ft 4in, and happily married. While I've always been healthy otherwise, my weight has been a constant struggle in my life since birth. The heaviest I've been is 275 and the lightest 215. I'm currently stuck at about 240, getting no heavier (but also no lighter) regardless my intake or exercise. I'd like to eventually be around 170-150 depending on where I finally feel healthy and comfortable. My doctor says I have a very low metabolism and plantar fasciitis in my feet. This makes exercise painful, especially after being on my feet around 8-10hrs. 4-5 days a week for bakery work. I'm hoping to get somewhat close to my goal weight before my husband and I are ready for a baby. I've tried to do this alone in the past with minimal results and no one who knows the struggle personally. Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I have been struggling with everything to do with weight loss and body image for as long as I can remember. Its been a long journey to get me to the point I am today. Hey everyone! I'm terrible at the whole "talking about myself" thing, but I figure that if I'm going to use an online community to be accountable for being healthier, I'll need to actually talk. I'm 27, living in Maryland, and going through a bit of a life upheaval at the moment.
I've always been heavy, but last year I hit my highest weight I've ever been. I managed to drop a little over 40 pounds, but with the aforementioned life upheaval, I'm slipping. Just hoping to get some help being motivated and accountable with losing the last 60-70 pounds.

Hello. The name is Kyo. I'm 25 and have been overweight through all of my high school and college years. Now 5 years after college graduation and working 2 jobs, I need to get in shape. My first goal is to lose about 90lbs and weigh around 160. After that I will see how I feel and how much I need to lose yet.

Hey, ya'll. I'm Brittany. I'm 22 years old, a full-time online student and a part-time employee. I also volunteer with the animal shelter near me. I have gained about 80 pounds in 2 years and I am looking to lose nearly all of it.

I hate the way I look and how my clothes do not fit anymore. I'd be comfortable at 146 pounds or so, so that is my ultimate goal! Add me on here and we can be accountability buddies. :-)

Hello all!

I'm 26 years old, I weigh about 200 pounds and I'm a U.S. size 12/14. I went through a tough few years and during that time I managed to pack on about 40 pounds. I've lost about 10 but I would love to lose another 30 or so. I've just gotten married this year and my husband is a wonderful person. I want to live a full life with him (and the family we hope to have someday) and I know being in better health is a key to this.
I guess I don't feel too huge. In fact, there have been many times when I have decided that I want to love myself and my body no matter its size or condition. If I were to be a size 12 and 200 pounds for the rest of my days, I could be very happy and I would be thankful, but I know that I can do better than this. I know I can be lighter, stronger, faster, more flexible, healthier, etc.
I'm a little clueless about weight loss, other than burning more calories than I consume. I've been trying to cut down on calories, carbohydrates, sugar, and junk food. I have been adding cycling and Pilates workouts to my day four to five times a week. I hope that being more active on this site will teach me a lot and help me reach my goals :)

Hi all...
I'm a 25 year old accountant and part time student. I've gained whole bunches of weight over the past few years, which means I'm hoping to lose at least 70ish lbs by 2017. Hi my name is Hayli and I am 24 years old. I am wanting to lose around 90 lbs, not only for my health but to be able to get pregnant. I just found out I have PCOS so I have to lose weight to be able to be come pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. I have a husband of 2 1/2 years and we both are trying to turn our lives around for the better. I have gained about 60 lbs since high school (6 years ago) and I cant believe I let myself go this far. I am on here because I need help with motivation and others to push me to reach my goals. I'm so ready to help support others as well and cant wait to get to the end of this journey!

Hi all, my name is Michelle, and I'm 22 and from Iowa. I take online classes full time and work full time. I've always been a bit chubbier, and have been on and off the getting healthy bandwagon, but the past 2 1/2 years I've put on over 45 pounds from stress, emotional eating, and just not exercising. I'm so utterly out of shape at this point, my depression has gotten worse because I hate the way I look, I'm having sleep problems, and I'm just generally not healthy at all. I realized I'm only 22 and I have my whole life ahead of me, and I don't want my health slowing me down, or even stopping me.

Hi all! My name is Jess and I am 24 years old. I'm a full-time college student and full-time employee. With literally no time to spare, it has been a lot of eating out. I never really liked my size, but it has particularly hit me when now I am restricted by my weight since some things I want to do you have to weight less. My goal is to lose 60 pounds. I'm not expecting it to happen soon, but I'm ready to work on my body. 4 years ago I managed to lose 39 pounds, but in last 2 years I regained 22 of them. But now everything is different because I want to lose weight to be healthy. Beauty and opportunity to wear clothes I like are not my priorities anymore.

Hello all! My name is Ashley, but I go by Kara on every online alias thing/game. I joined this team around 3 years ago when I DID have about 90 pounds to lose to my goal weight. Now its more like 190, I hope I can stay in the group though. I'm going to start becoming more active now.

I'm 25, and currently a PCA and CNA while also a full time student in college for an Associates in Health Information Technology. My CNA job is exercise enough but I soon want to get a fitbit to track my steps and calories burned to see how much I actually DO burn on my CNA job.

Hi! I'm Mary-Ann...

Not new to SparkPeople, I was on here a few years ago and it worked for me then. But I really didn't use it to it's full potential! Since then I gained back the weight and more, and am ready to start again towards achieving a healthier, happier me.

I'm 28 years old, and I'm hoping to lose at least 50 lbs. I'd tell you how much I weigh currently, but I have to go buy a scale first... I haven't owned a scale for a few years now, not since the last time I was on SparkPeople and bought one then. It broke a long time ago, and I haven't gotten a new one yet.

Currently I'm between jobs due to health issues (which contributed to the weight gain) I hope to be able to keep up an active lifestyle while trying to find a new job and balancing a healthy social life and a budding online business.

I've never been really very active and feel like a complete newbie when it comes to physical activity at all. I recently started an adults belly dancing class (yesterday was class 3 of 14) and got an app called Zombies, Run! to help motivate me to doing exercise more regularly. I love video games, so I figured a gamification app would help me want to actually go for a run! I also love hula hooping and hiking.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you, and seeing us all achieve our goals through this together!

Good evening y'all! My name is Suzanne. I am from Louisiana. I am 27 years old and have 90 pounds to loose. I am a bookkeeper and executive administrative assistant - I also do photography on the side. I grew up an athlete and got lazy in my adult life. I found myself weighing 230 pounds. I have been on a health journey since June of this year and have lost 26 pounds since then - still 90 to go. I am so excited that I came across this website. I am trying to adhere as much as possible to a vegan lifestyle, but I still really like my eggs. I am currently in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and yoga to help me achieve my fitness goals and also am cycling on days when there is no yoga or Jiu-Jitsu. I look forward to working through this journey with all of you!

Hi y'all! I'm Melissa, I live in Illinois and I'm 26! I have a total of 90 pounds to lose now, I've already dropped the first 7 since coming back to spark in August! I have to eat gluten free out of necessity for an allergy, and I just started doing the couch-to-5k program with the hopes of completing my first 5k on Thanksgiving morning! I have two beautiful step-daughters who are 9 going on 5 ;) and one amazing son who just turned 2 years old this past Friday. No pets, but we are hoping to purchase a puppy Bernese Mountain Dog at some point once we get the money!

Hi everyone! I'm a PhD student and trying to break out of the sedentary lifestyle that often imposes. I put on quite a bit of weight over the last few years (back when I was a teacher, another job that's pretty sedentary), I'm afraid. I'm trying to, first, get my health back, and, second, lose the weight. So far I feel pretty good.

Welcome to all the new faces! This is a great group, I've met a lot of amazing people from this group that helped encourage me and motivate me to succeed which I'm sure a lot of you will find as well. I'm back to having to lose 40 pounds to feel happy with my body so I'm definitely going to work hard at doing that. Have hit the gym three times this week, might go after work but still debating. I'm sure I can squeeze 35 minutes in before my tattoo session.

Hello Everyone! My name is Emily and I have finally become fed up with how I feel. I am a travel nurse with a cute dog that is bursting with more energy than a toddler on a sugar high.
I have been on SparkPeople before, lost some weight and then reverted back to my lazy/bingy habits. I have about 90 lbs I want to lose but taking small steps to do it. I would like to lose 25-30lbs before Christmas. My sister is getting married in May and has a cute dress picked out that I would LOVE to actually look good in (also have a high school reunion coming up next year, we all know what that means...). I would also like to become more active and in shape to keep up with my dog. I'm ready to kick this thing in the butt and glad to have the support of those on this site.

Hello all, my name is Miranda. I am 24 years old, and live in Des Moines, Iowa. I am the mother to a 3 year old daughter. I am currently a full time nursing student, and work part time in the ER at a local hospital. Like most after I had my daughter I never lost the weight, and it just keeps piling on. Now I'm to the point where I don't feel good about myself, and none of my clothes fit. Hi everyone!

So i have dusted off my old spark account and hopefully this time I can really plow through. I just turned 28 last week and I have a lot of exciting new things coming up this year.. I really feel like it will "be my year". In a few months I will be moving to Alaska to start a new job and it's a job that Ive prayed for for years. But where I am physically, is not where I want to be. I know I will be doing a lot of hiking in the future and the idea of doing that right now sounds daunting. I want to be healthy for when I make the move and feel happy in my body again. It has been quite a few year.

I'm 24 years old and trying to lose the 75 pounds I gained through stress, poor habits, and laziness...though if I can redeem that weight by turning some of it into muscle, I won't be too concerned with what the scale says. :)

My biggest problem right now is my lack of accountability; I know why I overeat and how to deal with the root problems, but for me it's boiling down to simply just getting my butt in gear and working out or just making better decisions about food, and I'm really not sticking with it....so I'm hoping by joining this community, I'll be more successful :)

I have given myself one year to lose this weight and to get where I want to be.

Hi everyone my name is mj and I think I am at a weight of 269 pounds. Its pretty scary for me to admit that but I feel pretty determined. I enjoy the calm outdoors and watching all the new movies. Also singing and writing lyrics.
I am 24 years old and have been with the same guy since 16. I have had some pretty crappy things go on that I have let control my life and I am now 100% taking responsibility and putting myself first. I would ultimately like to be 145 pounds but I am starting my weight loss goal as 20 pounds. Im going on vacation with my sisters in march and would love to be well on my way to fit when i see them! This weight loss thing is one thing that i hope will help my anxiety. I would like a weight loss buddy or 2 :) To help with motivation! Thanks for reading this! Add me if you like :D

Hello! My name is Alyssa and while I've kept off 50lbs for five years, I need to lose another 50 to get down to a healthier weight. I honestly just want a healthier life. I know that I have many bad habits to break and I want to have a lifestyle that is active.

I love to jog especially in nice weather, and I also love hitting up the gym. The gym is my place of solitude and where I can just take it all out.
