Hello!

I turn 29 this year. Somehow, I always thought that to become a responsible adult is something that happens automatically. But that is clearly not true.

How many times have I told myself that I should start my new life:
-At New Year
-At the end of the month.
-Next week
-Tomorrow
-Today (?)

And how long does my new life last? Maximum 10 days

So, what's the big things that my new life shall consist of that seems so difficult to maintain for more than 10 days?
-Eating sweets only once per week
-Work-out three times a week
-Vegetables / fruit with every meal
-Weekly cleaning
-Socialize with other than your partner twice a week (work does not count)
-Meditation / relaxation once a week

Or simply. Exercise more, eat better, do not be a hermit and reduce stress.

I am 29 years old. I have high blood pressure that I must take medication to treat. I have pain in the feet, knees, back and shoulders. I am constantly tired. I often feel anxiety and stress both at work and at home. I'm too tired to spend time with both friends and family (besides RPGs that takes place 1-2 times every two weeks). I eat sugar almost every day (usually on the way home from work). And few are the small vegetables that can be found on my plate. I weigh 93 kg (205 lbs) and is 167 cm. The apartment looks like a garbage dump except those days when I was expecting a visit. Then I stress-clean up an hour before and makes it look alright. It's a bit like all of my energy goes to work, but there is not anything left to put in my own life.

This does NOT work. I hope (and believe) that I am not alone in failing to achieve good routines.

So... here I am. And Im going to try to really make it work this time. But I think that I will need help with my motivation.

Hi everyone! I wanted to take second to introduce myself. My name is Courtney and I'm from outside of Houston. I have had issues with my weight since I started dating my highschool sweetheart and now fiance! You could say I gained "happy" weight from all of the dates and junk food nights and beers and fun stuff. I started trying REALLY hard to lose weight in 2010 when I came home from college weighing 190 at 20 years old. I used SparkPeople religiously and worked out about an hour a day every day. I quickly got down to 160 and was so confident and comfortable in my own skin for the first time in a long time.

Then...50 Shades of Grey came out! I know what you're thinking. "How is that even relevent?" Well....read the first book..and by the time I got to the third one came out I found out I was pregnant. I guess we were...inspired. LMAO! I fell off the wagon hard being pregnant. I was way too comfortable in the "eating for two" pattern. The day I delivered my son I weighed 222. After having the baby, I got back down to 170 by his first birthday.

Then, I started a new desk job. Sitting all day, stress, having the access to a kitchen with free snacks all day, it's just snowballed. This morning I weigh 220. 2 pounds from what I weighed at 9 months pregnant. The madness has got to end. I am getting married to my high school sweetheart next June and REALLY want to be able to shop for wedding dresses and not want to cry looking at myself in the mirror. I really want to make a lifestyle change. I want to end the "sick and tired" feeling that plagues me everyday. Me and my maid of honor are doing this together, and I think we are going to be successful. I just wanted to introduce myself and spill my story and maybe gain a few "accountabl-a-buddies" to help! I really want to get down to either a size 8/10 or 160-170 by my wedding. Cheers to the journey!

Hello! My name is Beza and I am a 21 year old rising college senior. I honestly don't remember when I became overweight but I think it was sometime in middle school. I am chubby in all of my pictures from high school and DEFINITELY from college so it's been a while. At my heaviest I was 197 and then got down to 181 and now I am 188. I'm Katie. I joined a few months ago but never really did anything. I weighed 239 lbs. three years ago, when I got pregnant with my daughter. I have since gotten down to 217, but I have started gaining it all back way to quickly since moving from a manual labor job to a desk job. I could use some guidance and motivation.

Hi, My name is Courtney, and I am not exactly new to sparkpeople, but I am trying to lose weight again. I am 25 and taking time off from school. I work as a delivery driver for papa johns and that makes eating right a little difficult. I am at the end of a divorce from an abusive spouse and my true goals here are to get strong mentally and physically so that no one will ever do that to me again. Hey! My name is TreAnna. I'm 20 years old and a Creative Writing/ Biblical Studies double major. I'll be a junior in college this fall (yay!) I've tried Sparkteens before, but never got very far. My problem is I don't stay motivated. I'm hoping that I can go much further with the sparkpeople program. :) I really want to lose weight so that I can be healthier and have more energy. Allon-z yea, I'm a Dr.who fan here,hence the screen name Timelordlady85. my name is Amber, ill be 30 in September and trying to lose another 10 pounds before my birthday. my long term goal is to go from 191 pounds, i started last year at 230+ pounds and work my way towards 140 pounds. I'm married to my best friend going on 9 years this November and we have 3 sons together. I am pretty good about tracking food and very active,well as active as I can be for a temp,. stay at home mom. I ride my bike with my kids to school, which is a 2 mile there and back ride. so I ride there in the morning and come home,2 miles, and then repeat each afternoon. I do my aerobics, use hand weights and have an elliptical machine. I was a member on sparkpeople years ago and just came back from another fitness site. I really like the new changes sparkpeople has made. thanks for having me in the group. emoticon

I'm 21 Years Old and trying to get my life back in order after a couple of years doing bug all nothing about making my life better. As of late I've been trying to eat healthier and walk 15 minutes a day after work. I also want to regain my confidence after getting my heart kicked in the rear end more times than you can count. My name is Heather. I am 26 years old and I have 4 kiddos. I'm married to an AMAZING man!!
I have been on a weight loss journey for almost 8 years now and I have not yet succeeded in reaching my goal weight. I am determined now more than ever to get my healthy self back!! I have 75 lbs to lose and I am sooo excited to watch it drop off!

Hello new friends!!

My name is Jessica, I'm 26 years old and am currently at about 250 pounds, hoping to drop down to 170 pounds.

I had gastric bypass five years ago (5/10/10) and went from my highest weight of 362 pounds all the way down to 175 pounds. Gastric bypass was (and still is) a great tool to help me battle the weight... but life happens and old habits die hard. Here I am facing a 75 pound regain.

Tomorrow is my five year surgiversary, and I'm ready to start getting back to business! I was using tumblr for a while as a support tool, but I'm finding that unless you're 'tumblrfamous' you don't get much support. I've heard great things about the SP community, so I come to you all with high hopes that we can do this together! :)

Hey everyone. I prefer going by D, am 23 approaching 24 in September, and trying my best to lose weight and get in shape. I used to be a member years ago, but I deleted, and so I'm back. This time I'm ready, willing, and determined to do this. I need to lose about 50lbs min. and probably more afterwards, but I figured 50 is literally the bulk of my problems with weight so start there, and see how I feel when I get to it. I'm a university student, after taking two years off, currently work as a nanny for a 1 and a half year old, and enjoying Summer break.

Hello All! My names is Beth and I am new to Spark People. I'm 24 years old and currently attending university. My current weight is 189 lb and my goal weight is 120 lb. Hey Everyone! My name is Lindsey & I was on SparkPeople about 4 years ago but I'm back and super focused! I'm at 196.4 and my goal is to be at 135 by December 1st! I have amazing support at home but I know how key SparkPeople was to my success last time. The daily support and accountability means everything. Hi im Jenny im 28 ,married from Pennsylvania and raised in Maryland :-) :-)!! :-)!!
Im going no-low carb and no sugar diet.
I have pcos, hashimotos,gerd,pre diabetes,elevated free testosterone levels.
Im here mainlt to get support because im a carb craver I will be going on a medication to help with that craving.
But there is power in belonging in a group of people that are struggling to or have been there done that.

Hi, I am Kristy! I have been tracking carbs with Spark People while I have been pregnant. I am not diabetic, but since I am heavy, it was a good idea to avoid too much weight gain with the baby. I lost about 50 lbs before I got pregnant (315lbs to 265lbs) and have gained about 15lbs-ish this pregnancy. I am only a week and a half from my due date!

I have been working out regularly at the gym and swimming throughout my entire pregnancy, so I feel really good still:)

I am planning on just having some self care with rest and a nutritious diet for a month after the birth and getting back to exercise when my doc says it is ok.

My LT goal is to get down to 190lbs and run/walk another half marathon!

HW - 315 lbs
CW - 281 lbs (6 days PP)
GW1- 250 lbs (for half marathon Oct 18th)
GW - 200 lbs

Hi, I'm Amanda. I started working out in January at a local gym. Recently joined Spark :) Right now I'm working out with a coach two days a week, and I do a fitness class at least one day a week. Hey y'all!

I'm Amanda, and I have about 90 lbs to lose total. I have been on SP in the past, but life happened and I lost my motivation. I'm back to lose my baby weight plus the weight I put on before I got pregnant!

I'm a mom to an 11 month old baby boy who really keeps me on my toes. He is practically running now after 2 weeks of being able to walk. I really want to be in the best shape I can be to keep up with him and set a good example for him.

I'm starting again with Beachbody's 21 Day Fix meal plan and workouts. I started a challenge group yesterday, and my first round on 21 Day Fix I lost 9.8 lbs and 9 inches. I'm looking for excellent results this time around, too! If anyone is interested in 21 Day Fix or has questions about any other Beachbody programs (P90X, Insanity, Brazilian Butt Lift, Piyo, etc.) let me know! I would be glad to answer them! :-)

My name is Vikki and I live in Western Canada. The weather is finally getting to be super nice and I'm looking forward to getting more active outdoors.

Hey everyone, my name is CeCe :) I am 23 and currently weighing 230..I need to lose about 70lbs. I definitely need the support and motivation from friend and hope i find some here. I am new to SP as of about 6 hours :) I used to be a dancer (hiphop/ballet) and had a bad back injury. Literally left me in a wheelchair for four months. 24 (creeping quickly towards 25) year old mother of two. One year ago when I had my youngest daughter, I peaked at 265lbs. I hated everything about myself at that point and was constantly depressed. Fairly quickly I got down to 245 dropping some post baby weight. I then begun using sparkpeople last summer. I lost about 25lbs while staying focused with it. The stress of life eventually crept up on me and I stopped trying for a while. Last week something in me sparked and I knew it was time. I stepped on the scale to find I had gained 9 of that 25 back. I have been watching my food religiously, hiking, chopping wood, and making lots of little changes. 5:30am tomorrow will be my first official gym session as well! I am already back down 6lbs and feeling a lot more confident in my ability to do this! I love the support and motivation I get from everyone on this site and it has helped me to push harder!

Hello! I'm an almost 27 year old SAHM of two special needs boys who keep me on my toes. I never had a problem with my weight until I had my kids and I've been struggling ever since. Hi! I'm Tiffany. I am 22, a full-time college student, and I work 2 jobs. My goal is to lose 68 pounds and just to be happier with my body. I have tried to use SparkPeople a few times over the last year, but haven't really stuck with it. I just rejoined and this was the first team recommended for me. I used this site many years ago, but felt I was doing well without it. Flashback to about a year and a half ago, I met an amazing guy and started focusing on getting a better career. Hi, everyone! My name is Julie and I'm a returning user. About 4 years ago I was using SparkPeople and got out of the habit of doing it, so I of course stopped altogether. However, I'm getting married in October, moving for the first time ever, and starting a new job related to my recent college studies. I want to start my new life with the best version of me possible so I reactivated my account tonight. I'm really hoping that this time I can keep up with it better, despite the hectic life of planning a wedding. Good Evening!! My name is Amanda. I have recently joined Spark and I need to loose almost 55 pounds. I am currently at 190 and need a buddy to keep me accountable. Welcome Erin to the group! First you have to look at it as a lifestyle change, I never really consider it a diet since you are just tweaking the way you eat to make it better overall.

When I go grocery shopping I tend to follow sticking to the outside areas rather than the middle isles since those are where the processed stuff linger.

Other things that I've avoided that seem to help is drinking juice unless it's made myself or made at the local produce store.. and pop! I haven't eliminated everything for the simple fact that I know I would cave if I did that. So I go by the 80% healthy 20% whatever plan. I'm sure you've got this :)

It does most of the time, but sometimes you get people like me who it never reverts back to typical abs. It's sucky, but I'm working on it!

Katie - Doesn't diastasis recti eventually correct itself if you are cautious enough with it? Obviously, don't do anything that your doctors recommend against. Be safe!

Thanks! I do get a bit of a workout, but it's hard to get outside when it's under 20 degrees. She does copy my workouts. I found out that I have a diastasis recti. It's an abdominal separation from when I was pregnant with my daughter. Situps and planks and almost all the "normal" ab workouts are just really bad for this condition.

So I'm trying this.

Hi, I'm Jayme. I'm mostly new to this team, though I've been on the site and in this team before under different profiles. I've been struggling with weight loss for a long time, and been overweight for as long as I can remember. I always keep myself accountable when I'm tracking food, and can lose pretty well, so I'm back here to try again! I have a long-term goal of losing about 60 pounds right now, but I know I need to lose more then that to really be healthy. I'm just finishing up my Master's in counseling, and starting work in drug and alcohol counseling with corrections clients right now. It's challenging by satisfying work!

Wow! a 3 year old and on the third floor. Are you sure you're not getting a workout the way it is? Lol. Get out and active with your little one when the weather permits. And workout indoors with your little one also. They love to copy at that age. Or to use you as a sliding board while doing planks, lol. Oh, the joys of motherhood.

Hi everyone. I'm Rachael. I'm 25 with 55 pounds to lose. I joined sparkpeople originally 3 years ago and I lost 15 pounds. Then I got distracted and I stopped using the site. I started a new profile last week and I'm 5 days in a row logged in and tracked. :) I run a flooring company with my husband so I work a lot and it's varying times. Dinner can be anywhere from 6:30 to 9:30 at night so I have trouble with snacking. I know I can do this. I've already lost 20 pounds in the last 6 months and now I'm back on spark to help me lost the rest. I hope to get to know all of you! :)

Hi everyone I'm Jess I'm looking to loss about 50 lbs. It seems like I keep trying to lose weight and then I just end up failing at it. I'm hoping that talking to others on here who are going through the same thing as me will help motivate me. I'm also a corrections officer so a lot of the times I work 18 hour days (not by choice) and that along with only a few hours sleep before having to go back in for the next shift can put a damper on eating healthy and being able to work out so I try to go to a fitness class whenever I can. Looking forward to getting to know most of you.

Hi Everyone,
I'm 21 years old and I have about 70 lbs to lose. I was in great shape going in to college, but like many people during my four years of school I ate and partied too much. Along with some emotional and physical problems also helped pack on the pounds. Now I'm getting married this summer and want to be as healthy as I can when I start this new chapter of my life!

My fitness plan is the paleo diet along with lots of exercise.Glad to find some sparkpeople who are close to my age!

Hey there,
