I also struggle with my sweet tooth. I've found that it's really easy for me to eat the fun-size candy bars without going overboard and that I don't necessarily have to have the king sized version. I also really love the 90 calorie chocolate chunk granola bars from Wal-Mart. Just be sure to budget your daily calories so you can enjoy a sweet without feeling like you're blowing your diet.
You can't deprive yourself of sweets entirely; otherwise, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment when you eventually binge. For me, it's all about mind over matter. I tend to think of myself as a very strong-willed person, and when I realized that food had completely taken over my life, I decided to take a stand and join Sparkpeople.

Hi, My name is Elizabeth and I just started trying to lose weight. I am 26 years old and I am going to graduate from college this year. I recently decided that I had to do something about the fact that I weighed 200 lbs and I am only 5ft 4in since type 2 diabetes runs in my family. The best way to start losing weight is... being active on this website! Utilize the food tracker, make sure you log your exercise minutes, keep track of how many glasses of water you had, and take advantage of the 14 day free trial of the Sparkcoach. It's a great way to jumpstart your efforts.

Hello~ I'm 26 and a mother of a two year old. I really want to have more energy for her and be less lazy. When she wants to go outside I don't want to feel like it's a huge effort to get off the couch. I weigh 320 and I couldn't believe that I gain 20 pounds this year alone. I need to change my eating habit. I realised this after I finished eating a whole pumpkin pie. When we get pizza, I should only have a piece or two instead of half the pizza. I could even drink a 2L of soda in a day. It's nasty when I think about it. I want to change for my daughter so she won't fallow in my foot steps! Hey everyone! My names Kate and I am nearing the end of my 20's too....... oh so sad. In fact 2 weeks from today I will be turning 28 - Lord help me! One of my goals in the beginning of 2012 was to lose some serious weight. I did well for a while, since that's what I typically do, but then I fell of the wagon post Cruise in May. I basically gave up and I'm now paying the heft price for it.

Hi everyone! Today is my first day at Sparkpeople. I am excited to be here. Almost 3 years ago (after having our 3rd child) I lost 45 pounds, and I have maintained that weight for the past 2 years. Hello! I am Natasha! I have been overweight for the past 6 years. I used to be very active physically... I gained weight, and the doctors weren't sure why. It was about 80 lbs in a year... so I gave up for a while. I just ate whatever and stopped working out. That led to me gaining another 20 lbs. ( at +100 now, lol). Last year I joined Weight Watchers, and I did lose some weight, but I couldn't afford the $$ to continue. I did well for a while on my own, but eventually I gained most of what I lost back. And now I find this group! I like being able to track what I am eating and what exercise I am doing... and the accountability is something I almost need, lol. I am starting with the 50 lb goal by May. After that I will set another goal for the other 50. So let's do this!

Hey Adriana! Welcome to the group! I tend to have a problem with the fridge as well and the cupboards!! I would suggest spending time cleaning out your fridge and cupboards and refilling it with healthy snacks THAT YOU LIKE!!! I have replaced my bad food with things like the skinny cow ice cream treats at 150 calories each! Also things like peanut butter and apples, celery sticks and peanut butter....things like that. It's helped me A TON to stay on track. I have also learned that no matter what I tell myself, I do not have the will power to stay away from any bad food in my house so I just get it out of there so i'm not tempted. You will thank yourself when you step on the scale each week! Hope this helps! Also i've heard they sell these things you can attach to your fridge or cupboard that says "Moo!" everytime you open it so you really feel like a cow! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Hey everyone, I have recently started a medical weightloss program with a local hospital. The test for all kindas of things before you can start. With this I found that I am prediabetic. I can tell you that I am not one for needles or blood the site really bothers me. I want to live a healthy life style not just for me but my kids as well and not have to worry about any life altering medical issues. Any support or tips would be grately apprieciated! I have always been an active person and still am I do classes everyday whether it is muscle or cardio i am sure to get it in I have up my calorie intake per my docter to 1200 to 1500 calories a day. I was barely eating 800. I am looking forward to a life style change and all that it brings my way!

Infact, my father is at this vary moment bed ridden becuse of back and leg pain due to his wight (Cuppled with a life of factory work)... and I geuss I have always acceptied that this was my fait as well...
Here's the thing... I have Dyslexia and I always thought I would never amount to anything in the acadimic world... When I was tested last I had a reading comprehinchen level of a 5 year college student (This test was in the midle of my 12th grade year), I am an A B student in college, I am on the deen's list, and I have been invited into the honnor's socity... (All of this dispite my tarrible spelling...) If I can deafeet all that, why can't I be health too?...

I have roughly 60 lbs I want to lose. I have been big pretty much my whole life. My senior year of high school, I got into weight lifting for strength, and that was about the only time I was happy with who I was, or How I felt about myself. I was strong, and I was proud of it, it gave me a reason to be bigger, and people didn't pick on me so much. I was about 15 lbs smaller than I am right now, but the same pants/clothes size then that I am now. I just want to be healthy again. I am tired of feeling sick, I am tired of being tired and in pain. So I am hoping if I try to start eating better, exercise more, and treat my body better, maybe it will make life a bit easier. I have been cancer free for 2 years and 3 months, but don't get remission until I have been cancer free for 5 years. I am probably one of a few people looking forward to seeing 30 years old, lol.

Hi, My name is Amanda and I joined to try and get back on track. I have lost a lot of weight so far but I have begun to lose sight and cheat a lot. My starting weight was 250 and I am currently 222. I really need to lose weight for my health and for me I am tired of being overweight and I want to do something about it. Finally! Hi all! My name is Britney and I am a 22 year old military wife and mommy to a beautiful 7 week old boy. I am somewhat of a veteran here on Sparkpeople, joining July of 2007 and having lost 40 pounds by the end of that year. With my time spent here, I have really learned a lot and ultimately have made a lifestyle change. After a very stressful and complicated pregnancy though, I gained about 70 pounds overall. Though I have some work to do I am optimistic that I can get back down to a healthy weight not only for me but for my husband and son as well.

Hi Everyone!!! I am trying to lose between 60-70 lbs. I gained a lot of weight when I started using birth control shots as a teenager and was never able to lose it even after being off of it for a long time. I now have 3 beautiful babies and I am ready to lose ALL of this weight. I don't think I have been as serious about this as I am now!!! Good luck to everyone here!! I know this will be a long journey but I want to do it the right way!!!
