Just wanted to update the thread as I am still here for motivation and support for those that need some (and don't we all from time to time).

Being located in Medford, I'd like to make some face to face friends with local members. I also don't mind being supportive to those outside my area, so feel free to contact me or post here if you are looking for some -- motiviation and support that is =)

I don't get away until 3 (sometimes as late at 3:15) and I'd hate to keep you waiting... it would be nearly 4 by the time we got there.... otherwise I'd love to take you up on the offer. It sound's like its going to be a TON of fun and I'm sorry I'm going to miss out.

Erin, it would be great fun! We're going to practice Tuesday & Thursday in Grants Pass. Cheryl gets off work at 3:30 so we're "scheduled" for 3:45 to walk/jog/run/jive the track. We could drive together in my bug, Irene, if you decide to join. That would be fun!

See you Saturday AM and we'll talk more about it.

If you are in Klamath Falls and want to join, I would love to train with you, and then we can meet the ladies of Medford/Grants Pass either at the race or as we can before the race.

Hi Erin! Welcome!
I'm in Grants Pass.
Steph is in Medford and maybe she has already invited you to join our walking group.
We're training to do the Color Run in May, but you can still walk with us, even if you
don't want to do the run.
But, you will probably want to!
It's gonna be FUN!!!

ERIN_POSCH I love your spirit! I'm getting darned close to 65 and joined SP 15 months ago. I feel better than I've ever felt in my entire life thanks to SP. My husband and I live in Medford (he for most of his life ... me for the last 27 years) and love it. Since retirement, we don't get out and about much and I do miss that. He doesn't drive anymore and I'm brain dead when it comes to "finding" my way around in the hills, etc. I had an insurance appointment downtown and it took me two days to find the right place. What's that tell ya! emoticon

Welcome to the team! It had gotten off the ranks due to inactivity, but it's back in good status and I'm oh so glad. It's a warm feeling just knowing there are other Sparkers who aren't so darned far away there's no real way to get to know them well.

Don't you worry about the pounds. Your motivation and strength will take you to your goals. And don't ever feel alone. There are so many warm supporters (me included) to help you all the way. I have to make myself do the weights, lunges, etc., etc., but I LOVE walking with our 4-legged "little" boy (6 or 7 year old Schitsu/something mix) who's now 6 pounds overweight himself. Not good. But he loves walking/sniffing/you-know-whating. So it's a win-win!

Hello, I'm 53 and on my way to getting rid of the remaining 50-60 lbs I'm over.

I am taking great strides in doing for me (for the first time in my life) as I have always been the servant and thought of others before myself -- to the detriment of my own well being sometimes. I've got the exercise portion down and under control (I'm a PODRUNNER) . Got the calories and monitoring down and under control -- but how in the world do I keep carbs/fiber down and protein/calcium/fat up... if it no one thing its another LOL 8) Did I mention I love food and trying NEW things? This week its upping the CALCIUM and lowering the SODIUM (which is in my MILK but not in my orange juice -- GO FIGURE!)!

I have no known serious health issues (other than obesity) but old injuries cause me to do more running indoors on a trampoline than outdoors (where I'd rather be). I manage to make my area quite serene with "the grandkid's starbug something or other" for atmosphere as I run in the night 8)

My DH is skinny as a rail and lives mostly on sugar/carbs/fat unless I'm forcing him to eat healthy. I watch him eat and I gain. I work out behind the couch while he sits on it to watch his latest shows or play a video game -- can ya see where I'm coming from 8)

I like to craft - mostly with any type of thread or yarn and with anything that might inspire the grandchildren. I'm young at heart (only 5 on the inside) and pretty positive most of the time -- I work a stressful job so every now and then I have to step up on the positive but I always bounce back to happy pretty fast. The crafts are mostly a side line to keep the stress in check -- I can't focus on CRAP when I'm focused on CRAFTS!!!!
