You are right about the simple carbs and sugar.
Cooking and TRACKING you meals will really help. Exercise too is very important, aquasize works well. I used tom swim now I love to take long walks.
There are many articles about triglycerides and Cholesterol. Good and Bad fats too just search for them and they will come up.
I track cholesterol in my nutrition tracker I ate egg and cheese in the tracker and I was over. I love salads on hot days.
