to Spark, I have many more years than you have right now. I am 68 years young.
I was an athlete and swam laps every morning but I was still over weight. I tried everything in its time. Diet Workshop, Weight watchers, Curves, Water aerobic exercises and lap swimming. I was always energized and loved to walk. I was still well over 200 pounds.
Just after my 60th birthday I hurt my back and had surgery.
That slowed me down and at that time I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I took the meds I felt fine but 2 years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and once I knew those effects I never thought of weight loss I only think of HEALTHY.
You can do all kinds of diets and then it begins to wear on you and people often give up. I found SPARK, I found my teams and using the food tracker and doing the cardio and Strength training I am now off Diabetes medication. You never cure Diabetes, you can only control city.
I am off BP pills and my exercise keeps Blood sugar and blood pressure down, Woo- HOO!
I am doing great with cholesterol but triglycerides are not quite there yet.
As we get older we lose weight much slower so this is a good time for you to do it right.
