Hi Alex,

Welcome to the group! It is interesting reading that you feel a connection between stress and hypoglycemic symptoms. I am the same way. I actually haven't been diagnosed with hypoglycemia officially yet (unless you count a doctor in Thailand emoticon) because I don't have insurance so it hasn't been a high enough priority.

When I was checked out for my symptoms years ago, I was diagnosed with Atypical Anxiety Disorder, because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, so I must be atypical! Anyway, it's nice to hear that someone else feels that sudden bits of high stress affects their blood sugar level and symptoms. Anyone else reading this have similar experiences?

Welcome to the group, Alex!

My name is Alex, I'm back to SP after a very long hiatus. Just last year I was finally diagnosed with hypoglycemia. I don't know if it's possible to just develop hypoglycemia, but that's how it seemed to happen. Within 1/2 hour of waking up I'd feel terrible, shaky, terribly agitated, general "I'm gonna pass out" feeling. I was never one to eat breakfast right away, but now I have no choice if I want to start the day feeling normal. The diagnosis finally explained the mysterious bouts of actually passing out. I'm fine with the the hypoglycemia if I eat the right amount of complex carbs and protein but if I get lazy about planning it out, then I'll have an episode. I do like how it gives me an excuse to eat every 2-3 hours.

My two least favorite things about hypoglycemia: Eating first thing in the morning.
Super stressful adrenaline situations drops my sugar like nothing else. (I'm a nurse...My sugar will be fine then a pt will code or do something equally stressful-like, I'll take care of the situation then soon as I sit down and attempt to calm myself down for a minute, I'll start feeling crappy, check my sugar and it'll be like 45.)

Anyways, I'm glad this group exists. Finally some support. Haha.
