Hi I,m 44 and overweight and have high blood pressure and have been in a big bus accident in 2007 hurt my my back and had surgery in Nov 2011 . I have alot of anxity and panic alot when i take any pills or just going on the freeway in any car or person driving. and very depressed also cause i get scared something gonna happen to me or my family. Im tired of felling like this. is any one out there who has the same attacks like me i feel all alone. i was put on high blood pressure meds twice but i keep getting these weird feelings on them i dont if its just me panicking cause of the side effects or its the medicine so i asked the doctor if i can go off of them and try to eat more heather and exercise more. my blood pressure seems to be more lower since i lost 15 pounds i also have sleep apnea so ive been using my machine every night. so i think thats helping me too. but i just cant stop panicing that im gonna have a heart attack or have a stroke. I feel like im going crazy some times and making my family crazy too.

Hi and welcome to all the new members to the team.

I have read all of your posts and please know that we all are here for each other and YES it is so hard to get through a panic attack. For I have one or two a day my comes when I'm stressed or comes when my meds are wearing off. I feel so sorry for each of you and I will keep you in my prayers. I will go now and make us a chat room so all of us can talk there, so please look for it at the top of the threads.

Blessings, Sheila

Demi...
This is such a hard journey for all of us and it does make me feel better to know I am not alone. Just you saying that made me feel good today! It is weird for me because it seems like the moments I am experiencing stress (job, family, money issues, etc) I seem to be able to keep it togehter...then when all is right in the world...I LOSE IT!! Yes, food is a comfort and sometimes I just think, "who cares" it makes me feel better or even alcohol...that "one" glass of wine or martini and I feel like I can take on anything. But it's hurting my health, and OH we won't even talk about the carbs and calories! ;-)
So thank you for your kind words of encouragement...I hope together we can make it!! Like you said...let's try again...nothing to lose! (except excess pounds!)

~Michelle emoticon

Hi Michelle and welcome to the team. I recently join as well and I can tell: I UNDERSTAND YOU! I have been suffering from panic disorder for 12 years now. On top of that I started having depression few years ago. I know how hard it is to try to fight panic disorder and try to diet at the same time. I know that food gives you the comfort you need from the panic attacks and depression, I know how hard it is to fight panic attacks every day and try to limit your food- it makes you angry and dizzy and that triggers the panic attacks. I cannot tell you how many times I have given up. I gave up yesterday again and ate like a pig, as I was so stressed at work and when another panic attack hit me, I just said to myself I am giving up eating healthy and I will eat, eat, eat until I feel better.

Seeing your note today made me think. We are not alone. We are together. I know how you suffer. I know it's not just hard, it's very hard, but we can do it. Let's try again. One more time, nothing to lose, right?

Hugs, Demi

I am Michelle and new 2 this team.I have been following spark people since September of last year and I started out with a bang. I lost 10 lbs in 1st month, but I have fallen off the wagon more times than I can count, over the months. I have struggled with panic disorder for 15 yrs and have been able 2 maintain it until recently. I have had a set back and just need 2 connect with people who can encourage and motivate. Hope some of you will consider a "shout out!" emoticon

Hi everyone. I'm Sabrina and I am fairly new to sparkpeople. I am 30 years old and was diagnosed with anxiety attacks in 2001 after having my daughter. More recently I was diagnosed with panic disorder since having my son in 2010. It was a very difficult pregnancy and a very scary delivery. My panic attacks are extremely scary and I'm trying to learn how to live with them. I have been married for 11 years to a wonderful man who had helped me a lot. I hope to get to know some of y'all:)

Sabrina

Getting healthy one day at a time:)

Hi, I'm Shana from Illinois

I am relatively new to blogs and such but my doctor has encouraged me to reach out to others that contend with chronic pain, migraines, and fibro. I have suffered from massive daily headache since I was 10, now 22 years later and countless numbers of medication cocktails and shot I haven't been able to break the cycle. Today I start zoloft and I am extremely nervous. I'm always afraid my personality with be affected

hi ,
I just joined sparkpeople and am working around the website and found this team too, i am surprised there are so many people who are in a similar position as me. That in itself is enlightening as i have felt isolated with having so many health problems.
Lets hope we can all encouraged each other as we get into helping ourselves.

Good luck with your goals,

Hi i am new to sparkpeople forums and internet teams, am just retired but have been unwell for many years with asthma, depression( anxiety and stress thrown in) and over the past 2 years have had increasing panic attacks with an unknown source, (Although i am getting some professional help with these now)
Being disabled with lower back spinal degeneration and arthrithic joints and the resulting chronic pain. mobility has decreased and my weight has increased as a result.
I feel I need to get into some sort of programme where i am inspired to help myself and controlling my weight is the first step for me.
I look forward to seeing how others are managing and hope being in this team is the start of a new me. emoticon

Hi, I'm Anne from Wisconsin,

Thank you for the invitation to join this team.

I have suffered from anxiety and depression all my life. But, I cannot tell you how many times the anxiety has gotten way, way, way, beyond general anxiety. I was diagnosed with MS which set things off more in a downward spiral about 13 years ago. I was also diagnosed with MGUS 2 years ago which is abnormal blood proteins. This disease needs to be monitored every 6 months as it could turn into multiple myelomia. This is the short version.

I hope to gain information and help along the way with this team.

Hope to talk to you all.

Thank you for the invitation, ARMYMOM46 and MCDIDDLYD. I do have a history of panic attacks and anxiety, and also some depression. Right now the depression I'm coming out of, is more of an issue than the panic attacks, and that depression is mostly related to my health and the chronic pain and frustration of not being able to do what I want to do as much, anymore... I don't see how people can have chronic pain without some depression. It takes a lot of work to manage to not be depressed, and I'm working on it. :)

I've been an absolute worrywart most of my life, too. I worry much more about my children than myself, but that may be because of my age, and because I know I won't be here for them, forever. And also because two of them do have Autism and there is just so much one can do. I've put a lot of work into trying to manage my worry and anxiety and depression and it helps. I use a lot of affirmations, sometimes like a mantra to redirect my thoughts, and try to keep thinking positively.

Not sure if I fit here because I don't think my panic attacks are related to my pain, personally. I had them long before I had this much pain and I'm not having them as much, now. Thank goodness!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Blessings to all of you!

Thanks for the invite, MCDIDDLY!

I do have panic attacks and GAD, and I also have chronic pain, though I'm unsure what the relationship is between the two. I've always been a chronic worrier which I mostly keep under control with Wellbutrin, Celexa and Xanax as a rescue med. As for my chronic pain, I was in a car accident in 2005 - treated for whiplash and myofascial pain syndrome. Towards the end of my PT, I had an MRI which first diagnosed my degenerative disc disease - it was trivial at that point. Fast-forward to this past year, in April I began to have severe neck and shoulder pain and, to make a long story short, after an MRI, many months of PT, and some conservative treatment by a physiatrist, I required a cervical discectomy and fusion.

Nearly every day, I feel some sort of discomfort or pain in my neck and shoulders. My trigger points are unrelenting. I have quite a bit of arthropathy in my spine, so whether or not my discs are continuing to degnerate or not, I live with that discomfort (and the inability to take anti-inflammatories right now doesn't help).

So, hi everyone emoticon !
