Thanks Leeanna! Ok...maybe I have to read that section. LOL : ) I don't remember that? That great if I can have some dairy, sugar and breads then! I definitely would be able to stick with it.
Now...just to get to goal...ugghh! My ultimate goal is 125-130 so I have a ways. It will be along time before I can enjoy that again.

Yes, do you still have your kit? Or maybe it is new to the kit? In the little food spiral that is divided into 4 parts, under D Proteins, it says non or lowest-fat, and lowest sugar Dairy Products can be adding during the Living Lean program. Also, that is when dark chicken meat and salmon can be added, as well as D Carbohydrates such as Waffles, Pancakes, Stuffing, tortillas, some cereals, granolas, and breads!!! WOO WHOOO HOOOOOO.....

I CAN live with this "diet" for life. YEA! So thankful. This is why I stuck with the plan in the first place, I could see down the road, it would be easy to live with. As I know, if I go back to eating all the breads and desserts regularly, I will go back to my obese weight; but, this is a lifelong, lifestyle IF we want to maintain for life. Check out the Living Lean section of your notebook for 3 ways to maintain. One is CRAZY DAYS where you keep eating the same foods, but ONCE a week eat as you like, whatever you like. ANOTHER is EXPANSION, where you add/ incorporate more of the C and D food groups to your daily meals. THREE is where you CUSTOMIZE and see what works for your lifestyle, as mix up being POP, or EXPANSION, or have an occasional CRAZY DAY but not once a week. We will all have to see what our body type does during this phase. The good news is, we do have other foods to incorporate eventually and they look yummy!!!

LA I didn't know that was a maintenance option - I think I like that! Well, gotta get there first!

No, when you get to maintenance, you get to add dairy and sometimes sugar.
I already added in fat free 1/2 and 1/2, 0% FAGE Greek Yogurt, and Low Sodium Parmesan Cheese, because I am close to goal and it is not affecting my weight loss. I also use XYLITOL sweetner which is a sugar made from the birch tree sap and it has calories and cooks like sugar, but does not raise or lower blood sugar. As for grains, we do get rice and rice pasta and oatmeal on this plan. It is just during the weight reduction phase that there are stricter limits. Maintenance has more choices. For instance, one of the maintenance options is to eat on plan 6 days a week and on the 7th day eat whatever you like. Sugar included.

Thanks...I like the plan but over long term I don't know? It looks like I can't have any dairy, grains or sugar ever? Maybe I'm wrong?
I just had a baby so I'm going to have some work on my tummy : (

I also am unfamiliar with the Food Lover's plan. Like Heather, I love the MT plan for me. I am losing slowly, but I am very satisfied with the food choices and never feel deprived like I have on other plans. Also, I have never had the results I have had on this plan.

I looked at your ticker and it seems that 3 lbs a week is amazing for the little amount of weight you have to lose. If you continue at this rate or, even one lb a week, you will be at goal before summertime! I suggest that you stick with what you are doing because your body obviously is responding well. I think people who lose 30 lbs in 6 weeks are those who have a lot more weight to lose that you, me or Heather do. It wouldn't matter which diet you did, when you only have a small amount to lose (and 30 lbs is small), it will naturally take longer. Anyway the faster you lose the more loose skin you will have and you want to go slow so the skin can adjust as you go.

Hope this helps??!

Hi! I don't know anything about the Food Lovers plan - sorry!! I think I lost around 15 pounds in the first 6 weeks. I was really happy about it though because nothing else worked for me in keeping it off and continuing to work downward to my goal. I started at the end of last July and in between that survived a week's vacation with no planned foods, halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. All in all - I'm thrilled. Those winter holiday were ALWAYS a time I would pack on 10 pounds and this year that didn't happen. If you can stay on this plan and continue to lose 1 pound a week - how long until you get to your goal? During that time, you will be learning new habits by sticking to the plan. One thing I have learned really well is that I don't like eating out anymore. Not the treat I thought it was when I look at all the sodium in restaurant food! It's amazing when you can turn something down because you REALLY don't want it, as opposed to "doing what is best".

Best Wishes - and CONGRATS on the 15 pound loss - that is three 5 pound bags of SUGAR!!!!!

I have been on this plan since Dec. 27, 2010 it will be five weeks on plan this coming Monday. I have lost 15.5 pounds so far. Don't look like I will be hitting the 30 pounds in 6 weeks! What kind of weight loss is others seeing?
I seen another program that looked similar to this one but it was called food lovers... anyone know about that program and what is the difference?

Thanks!
