I just joined the group today, although I've been with SparkPeople for a while.
When you scroll over my picture, it shows you my "Before" picture... back in 2003 when I was 293 pounds and a size 26.
I lost 40 pounds by exercise alone, stopped exercising and gained it back...
Lost 40 pounds on South Beach... slipped back into old habits and gained it back.
I joined Biggest Loser Club and combined diet and exercise, lost 70 pounds, but I've been slacking, and some of the weight came back (had been down to 223, slipped back up to 256).
One of my co-workers told me about Michael Thurmond's books. He is on the 6-day diet, and lost 10 pounds very quickly. I'm giving this a try, hoping to get to my goal of 185. So far, I've been sticking to the diet plan for 3 days, and I'm down 5 pounds from Friday's weigh-in.
I've been married to Ron for 22 years, have three girls (20, 18 & 10), and work as a church secretary.
According to the book, I've got a Type B body. Even though I'm 5'6", my goal is in the 175-185 range (in 1989, I was down to 175 without exercise and was in a size 8).

My username? I love Penguins, and spend WWWAAAYYY too much time playing Solitaire games on the computer!
