We posted some recipes earlier on this site under "Have you tried a good recipe?", so if anyone would like to post your recipes to this site it makes it easier and faster to find them. I love trying new recipes. It is especially helpful to our newbies who are looking to shake things up those first few weeks!

Janet, all of us members are your assistants. Under Ed and your care, we all have a place to be helpful to one another. My place isn't as co-leader. All of us sharing our experiences, and the lessons we have learned along the way are helpful. You and Ed deserve the titles with your leadership skills. You two got the group active and gave us a place where we can be comfy in sharing what we have learned and a place we can ask what we have not yet learned.

Great Idea! Now there is where I think I have found my niche in the group. Instead of thinking up challenges and such, I will start focusing my time on submitting my recipes into the sparkpeople database.

Thanks you Ed and Janet, it shows great leadership to delegate abilities to where they can be best helpful to the overall group. Kudos for you two.

For the recipes, if you (Karen) post to the databank, do tell us the recipe name so we can search and tag as a favorite. Keeps life easier for us newbies, and surfer challenged.

You guys are funny. emoticon Yeah, I work tonight so I didn't roll outa bed until an hour ago (1pm). Having to switch between night time work hours and then back again to a normal staying up all day, sleeping at night schedule is at time a bit difficult- but I manage.

I think we should be alright to post modified recipes, we wouldn't want to get into any trouble from the folks at provida. Thank you Karen, good idea. And, we can always post links to the recipe page. I enjoy the provida site, but like I have mentioned before, sparkpeople has so much more to offer.

Here is another idea. How about inputting these recipes into the spark recipe data base? Personally, I would use the meal tool more if I could simply add in what I eat from on plan recipes etc.

emoticon

When I have evening snack and need something to crunch on mindlessly, I slice up cucumbers. Cucumbers are on our freebie list, so we can have as many of them as we want. A little balsamic vinegar and I am all set.

LOL I love that we are all answering each others questions to Ed with a "I'm not Ed but ..." Janet, If you noticed, I did the same on a couple posts. Around all these women he can't get in a word in even when questions are ask to him. Poor fella. Although perhaps he is loving it. emoticon

When I have more time I will create myself a thread and put some recipes that I have modified from the provida recipes, but those recipes that I follow exact I will just post the webaddress towards provida for.

Anyway, time for my lunch walk, I just finished eating.

Hi Heather,

Welcome!

I donít blame you on egg whites. I donít eat them either. But I do use the in recipes that I find at the provida recipe. I am a body type A so for breakfast I have an on plan muffin. Each muffin I make is 2oz protein and Ĺ cup carb. The best part of the breakfast muffins is that I bake a dozen at a time so I only have to make breakfast once every 12 days.

I am fortunate enough to have a job where I can eat at my desk. But I have some friends at provida that canít. Some jobs, even if you canít eat while working often you are allowed to have a drink. The smoothie recipes come in handy for that. I make smoothies occasionally when I have a meeting that is going to happen during an eating time. I just put it in a travel coffee mug and it looks like I am drinking coffee and not a protein and fruit drink.

Once you get into a routine, it really is easy.

Ed, are we allowed to post recipes here that are modified versions of provida recipes? The reason why I ask is because the muffins that I make from the provida site, I actually changed up a bit. So if I post the web address to providaís recipe, it wont have the modifications that I have made. For example, the muffin recipe actually creates each muffin to be 1 oz protein and Ĺ cup carb, while I have made the changes myself to make it 2oz protein and Ĺ cup carb per muffin

Heather,

It's pretty easy once you set your mind to it. If time is against you at work, slice your chicken, turkey, or tuna and roll it in a lettuce leave stuffed with spinach. I know it's hard at work, but you just have to take the time. Trust me, when your boss sees the new found energy you have, he'll cut slack on the time clock rule. I work for a financial planner and nothing is as "at the minute" as my job. My boss sees the energy is up and attitude is improved, and he gives into the eating. Besides, you can always stay the extra 15 to show good faith. As for home, hubby eats what I cook or he can cook for himself. As for my son, he's a picky eater so he stays within his plan which doesn't effect my thing. You can do it!! I have faith in you.

Heather- try buying the egg whites in a carton at the store. There is a brand we sometimes use which has low sodium. Actually, I like mixing egg whites in with grated potatoes!

If you don't like the egg whites, substitute another type of protein. Look on your meal card at the bottom and depending on your body type, you can use different proteins, A,B, etc. The way to be successful is to eat the things you really enjoy!! Experiment and try the different recipes provided on provida.com!!!

Lastly, you don't have to eat every two hours, per plan, you can go as long as three hours at a day. You will have to learn what works for you best. Stick with it and it will become a science. Email Karen, she works 40 hours a week and has done very well and so has so other many working women on our team!

Hi Heather and welcome! I know I am going to sound monotonous now, but I do batch cooking on the weekends for the work week. Chicken, fish and hard boiled eggs for the egg whites. Pack them up in appropriate portions and put in snack bags. As for the egg whites, I thought I would have trouble too but I don't. It does get easier!

Hello everyone...my name is Heather and have two kids my son is 12 and our little suprise is princess Holly.. I have actually had 6wbm kit since i think February but have been way to stressed and busy well ok and scared...But yesterday I finally started and I have to say that I am not liking it at all...but I plan to stick to it to see if it really works(paid for it might as well use it right)...I find some of it to be very confusing...I am having a problem eating egg whites doesnt matter how you dress them up( I have a very strong gag reflex and egg whites dont help that at all) and eating every two hours well thats a bit hard when i am working but I will continue to press on...could really use a buddy to help me push myself....
