Hey Everyone!

I got this program all the way back in 2005 when I was a Senior in Highschool. I lost 80 lbs using it then and again used it to lose 40 between my pregnancies. Unfortunately while I was preggers with my 2nd I gained almost 80 lbs :( I have lost about 30 using a Dr recommended PCOS diet over 2 years but it wasn't working anymore so I pulled My Michael Thurmond Book out retook the Body Type quiz and have started again.

I am on day 6 right now and have already lost 10lbs! I love how this way of life makes me feel. I am never hungry and I have so much more energy! I am really excited that there are others out there still using the program. I don't feel so alone now!

Cheers to our success!

Brand new to this board. Joined Spark long enough ago that my kids were little and in elementary school, now have 1 in college and 1 is a senior. Stopped using the site and now I am back. Find the 6 week body makeover provides quick results and I never felt hungry. Definitely need a boost at this point in my life. Looking for recipe suggestions as well. Oh and I guess I should mention I am a B

Hi Everyone,

It seems the start over is a regular topic here and I too am here and starting over. Back in 2005 or so I started the 6wbmo and the weight flew off like never before and I felt so good. I needed to lose 75 pounds which I did. It was amazing how much better I felt.

What I find really amazing is how I slipped around 2010 and little by little the weight started to creep up again. The more I gained the more I ate and the worse I felt. The worse I felt the more I slipped back into the habits I had before. Fast foods, sweets, way to much food was my down fall.

Now, here I am, embarrassed that I have done this to myself but ready to tackle it again. I was disappointed when I didn't find the forum on the Provida website but I am happy I found this forum. I already had a Sparkpeople account so I just slid right in.

Luckily I still have my 6wbmo program information and it was like an old friend when I started planning how I was going to do this. I had excellent results before and I trust I will again.

Looking forward to feeling better, getting to know many of you, and sharing tips, tricks and successes.

Hi! Where to begin...
I was a 6WBM groupie for about 2 years. I lost 135 pounds and was one of the monthly success stories in 2012. I was a RA in NBU many times and was known there as Rethabile. So, if any of us have met in the past...here I am, starting again.
I have a new approach to 6WBM though. This is a life style change (always knew that) but to be able to make it that way, I am incorporating things during my weight loss phase that will make it easier. So I am admitting right up front that I will never be POP. An example of this would be light ranch dressing on my salad at night. Makes it much more palatable and enjoyable. Also, lactose free milk on my granola in the morning. It may take me longer to lose the weight, but it will be a more long term manageable process for me.
I did purchase the replacement "new" Providia plan, but couldn't really wrap my head around it. I could do 6WBM in my sleep, so that is what I am doing. :)

I will do my best to be here every day to support you all, get to know you, and share whatever knowledge I have stuffed in this brain of mine. There is so much more to say, but I think this will get us off to a good start

I live in MN and am starting to see the signs of spring!

-Amy

Hello, Starting the 6 day Body Makeover on Monday. What is the best place to purchase the 6 week body makeover book? I dont want all the extra stuff. also seeking Buddies to keep me on track! Very excited as I did well on the 6 day Body makeover back in 2003. Also anyone wanting to share recipes, I like to have plenty of those on hand to keep it interesting. I need to lose about 40 pounds.

Good morning everyone. My name is Sunny. I've used 6WBMO in the past and have seen great results. Sadly life happened and I gained every bit of it back. But thats in the past and now I'm looking towards the future. Today is day 1 for me. I've been POP and I'm chugging my water like a pro.

Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce myself. I am so glad that I found this group on Sparks People. I did the 6wbmo in 2010 and lost 33 pounds. My husband then was in an accident and passed away and it has taken me quite awhile to get myself to the point where I am ready to get myself re-focused.

I am going back to this eating plan because I know it works for me. I am a body type B (which can be very difficult) and am hoping to find some support and recipes from this forum.

Hello~
I'm back on track after several months of trying different plans, and then completely ignoring my health for a few months. Not sure why this happens to me, but I get "lost" and it's such a struggle to get back. I think it's Adult ADD, but I've never been diagnosed.

Anyway, I am a true believer in the 6-Week Body Makeover. In 2010, I was completely disgusted with my self, couldn't sleep and was watching TV at 2:00 AM. The infomercial came on and after seeing the before and after photos, I was ready to call - then I realized that I already had the program. LOL - I had tried it without any motivation and I didn't last a week. I started the next Monday. My husband made my food for the week, and that first week I lost 11 lbs!! I was hooked. I followed the program for 8 weeks, and I lost 42 lbs. I stayed on the program through the holidays and maintained. Then, that spring, I lost my mojo and slowly over the next year, I gained most of it back.

I then followed a local program where I lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks, and kept that 20 off for a year, but didn't loose any more weight. I left that program and have been trying different plans, only to gain all my weight back. emoticon

So, I decided to go back to what worked and I found out that Michael Thurmond passed away and the boards aren't as active anymore. That's how I found this group.

Week 1 - Here we go!

Kathy

Hi,
I'm new to this forum. I am Body Type B. I used this program about 10 years ago and lost 25lbs in the 6 week period. Was it easy? No! But as I saw the weight loss each week I was motivated!!!! Well, here I am again because, well, life happens. But I'm in it for the long haul.
I am so excited to have found this forum. I'll be starting tomorrow so, good luck to all.

Welcome and please go take a look through the thread called "Recipes, Please". There a quite a few good ones posted there. If you can find or order the Mrs Dash Marinades they are very good, esp the BBQ or teriyaki.

Welcome, JW! I'm a "Body Type A", too :) There are ways to liven-up your meal plan...I like to use salt-free spices (which are more popular now than ever), citrus (especially lime juice), and "spray butter" (a little goes a long way).

I use olive oil, margarine, and light salad dressings - but only on occasion and I use them sparingly.

Take for example a baked potato. I used to pile on the butter, sour cream, cheese...you name it! Now I spray it with butter and put various spices (garlic powder is a MUST!). It tastes so good :)

Anyone else have some good "tips & tricks" for the group???

*hugs*

I am excited to start this diet, but I have done it before and it was tough on my own. I think having food that I like to eat will really help me. I am looking for recipes and meal plans for type A body.

Hello everyone! My name is Susie and I am very excited to join your team! I'm starting the MT 6WBM tomorrow as part of a weight loss challenge where I work. I have been on this program before; this is the only one that seems to work for me! I completed my food shopping yesterday, so today will be getting myself organized. My body seems to crave the protein as well as the consistency (who knew you could eat every 2-3 hours and STILL lose weight???).

Here's to an AMAZING 2015!!! Let's do this emoticon

Welcome Aprilwine! Congratulations on having a little girl!

If you want the results the best way is to stick with the mundane.... Me? I am trying a twist - I am taking the portion sizes and trying to be as close as possible to unprocessed, no salt, no sugar and choosing from a more variety of foods. I know I won't lose as fast, but I am hoping it will be a way of life and slow progress!

Hi I'm 41 years old and just had an adorable little girl about 16 months ago. Thankfully I didn't gain a ton of weight during my pregnancy and lost all plus 10lbs after having her! I went back to work and it killed my energy! I did the program several years ago and it worked great. I'm wanting to start back on it at the end of December. My goal is to lose 40lbs. My issue last time was the mundane menu. I need quick things and I do better having a set thing to eat for each meal. Any tips or advice would be helpful. I'm a body type B.

Hello, Everyone! My name is Shannon. I am looking for support on the program, too but I need recipes and ideas. (if possible). I've lost 30lbs on my own and since beginning the program I've lost an additional 14 lbs (yay) for a total of 44 lbs (I'm only tracking what I lost on the plan on Sparkpeople. I am a daughter and daughter in-law within a family of Soul Food Chefs which isn't easy! Food was NEVER a problem while growing up..especially "Steak" (which for my Body Type A) was terrible (but it tasted so good). Pounds later...here I am but I'm GOING to do this! My daughter had mailed me the plan before she was killed (in Ft. Bragg) and we were going to do this together. Now she's with me in spirit cheering me on! I use my Daily Notes to write her in Heaven, every morning, and it really helps. Depression, Grief, you name it kept me in bed eating anything I wanted but I was killing myself. In my heart I heard her say: "Mom, LIVE"! and by the Grace of God...I am Doing This! (Sorry, that this Intro is so long). If you have any pointers, recipes, or suggestions..all are welcomed!

Hi, I'm back, looking for support to get back on program. For some reason over the past few years I got away from the plan and tried other programs - with no success at all. So now I want to get back to what did work for me.
I have moved a few times and lost my program information. I've sent an email to support to see if I can get another one. In the meantime, I will do what I can to recall the program and with the use of this forum I'm sure I will be successful.

Hi I am Karen, I am a repeat offender and I am hoping to find some encouragement like I used to get at the provida forums. I will join in on the daily threads and hope to get lots of ideas and give encouragement myself. I am 51, live in Maine and have about 50 lbs to lose to get back to my best weight loss of 100lbs. Excuses are a dime a dozen but I am just recovering from shoulder surgery and thinking if I get my eating back in control the rest will come. I welcome any help/advice! K-

Hello!
My name is Mary and I have been with Spark a year and a half. Between on my own before joining and Spark I have lost a little over 100 pounds and need to lose one hundred more. About ten years ago I successfully did the 6WBMO and lost 29 pounds! I know it is difficult and rigid but it works and I think there is success due to most allergens removed...think about it, no wheat, corn, dairy or nuts! And no soy in many cases! I would like to give it a go again and am gearing up and thought joining the team would help me!
Good Luck to all!

Welcome Stephaine to our team and please come chat with us and let us know how you are doing good and bad. You did it once and you can do it again and the hardest part is keeping it off.

Hi my name is Stephanie and I am a returning SparkPeople member and 6 wk body makeover alumni. I have been doing the hcg drops since last August and managed to get 50lbs off by my goal which was Christmas. I lost about the same amount of weight the last time I did the 6 wbmo. I am wanting to do this again because of the success that I had. I am hoping to be successful again. I am wanting to keep off what I lost plus another 50 lbs this year.

Hi my name is Deb and I am new here. I did the 6wk body makeover last year and lost about 50 lbs . A lot of things went on in my life and I gained it all back. I have tried many diets In my years of dieting and this one seems to be the one that works best for me.

emoticon Angela and live love and respect to our team. I hope that you will reach your goals on six weeks. I did lose 106 lbs but kind of went off plan to try other plans, been under alot of stress, getting burn out and being very tired, been turning to foods lately and gain some weight back. Am now back on my plan.

hello all. I bought this program a long time ago and I lost about 20 pounds. I have since gained it back because I went back to school and didn't eat right. I am ready to give this another shot and get healthy. emoticon

Hi, my name is Melissa and I am glad that there are people to be found here that do the Six Week Body MakeOver plan. I did this program about 6 years ago and lost 80 pounds but I gained some back...not the program's fault, but my own. When I decided to lose what I had gained back I joined Weight Watchers but lost nothing in 2 weeks. I have lost about 7-8 pounds in the last week alone, so I am glad to be back at it!

Aloha I'm a newbie here in this group. But not new to sparkpeople. I just started the 6-week body makeover today, have done this once several years ago. Then turned into a candy junkie and now back to being a good girl. Looking forward to chatting you all!

I did 6WBM a few years ago and lost ALOT of weight but then I never went to the maintenance phase and fell off the wagon and gained it ALL BACK and then some. I am determined to do this again because I have been on allot of "diets" and lifestyle changes and I looked my absolute best when I was following this program. Not to mention that I ate really good and healthy and if my hubby and I want to have a baby soon I will not have to do anything different when i get pregnant as far as my foods. So.... wish me luck..

Hi my name is Didi... I just started the program last Wednesday... and I have lost 4 lbs (5days) .... I haven't seen that happen for along time... I am a type B and I have gone Gluten free a few yrs ago.... so not eating bread wasn't hard for me.... I did drink alot of tea with sugar and now I just drink my water and black tea.... I'm not hungry and I have alot more energy ... I'm very impressed... ~smile~ also I will mention that I have had two treatments of RAI for my Thyroid .. so I do not have an active thyroid ... I take medicine now... and haven't had something that has worked at taking the weight off in a very long time... I'm starting the 18 min workouts this week... I'm just so excited to find something that is working... emoticon
