Hello Ladies and Welcome Audrey! I'm new to Bento-ing but I have been Sparking for years. I decided to make a second account to blog about bentos and my other meals that are going to get my through my weight loss journey.

I just kind of found Bentos by chance through reading some online articles and I fell in love. I started collecting boxes and accessories before I even made a bento. I still haven't made a bento yet. I want my first bento to be an homage to my favorite cooking channel (Cooking With Dog). Hopefully that should be within the next few days.

I love Asian culture too. Since I haven't made a bento yet I can't comment on the question but I do plan to use my food scale and measuring cups and spoons faithfully. I plan to track my food with a good old fashioned food journal that I will write in daily.

I'm working on making my Spark Page to my new account and adding my links for flickr, facebook, and twitter. I know there isn't much activity on the bento blog. Maybe if anyone is interested we can have a challenge or something.

Look forward to getting to know both of you!

Welcome! When I'm tracking, I use a digital scale. Set it to grams, and tare between each item. It's tedious, but I can spend a lot of time on making a bento anyway. Look me up on facebook. I post my bentos there as public. I only saw two pix on deviant art. Keep posting!

Hello! I'm not quite new to bento making, so much as I am to Sparkpeople or ... cooking in general. Haha. I literally joined this site yesterday, and had the app the day before that. This place is really involved and it is quickly becoming my favorite site.

Anyway, my name is Audrey and I love to cook, play with herbs (making tinctures & brews), tea, and Asian culture. I found Bento through anime, like a lot of American fans have, and I really enjoy how much it helps with losing weight and keeping the portions under control. If you're interested I have a bento profile I made for deviant art. You can view it here: mary-greenman.deviantart.com/gallery/34528

I was wondering what you guys did to keep track of the numbers - the cups/ounces of food you were using in your bentos. Do you have a system for writing these things down, or do you just use your iphone/pen+paper?
