Bento making is a good way for portion control! I'm sure you will have fun preparaing and making them! There are many bento sites out there, do check them out. (^_^)

Hi, I'm new to the group (obviously). I bought a bento box some time ago and never ended up using it very much. It was a nice little I. Kotoba bento that I got on jlist.com.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure where it actually is now, so I may end up having to buy another one. I know where the bag it goes in and the chopsticks that came with it are, it's just the box part that's missing...anyway, that one was very, very small, which is probably why I didn't end up using it much. So maybe it's time to shop for a new one anyway.
I just got a new rice cooker, so I'll be able to make really good rice for my bentos now. I'd also like to try making onigiri or maybe even sushi.
A little about myself: I'm a college student, about to graduate with an associates in art and a certificate in information systems. I'm not sure what I'll do after that, I really don't have any plans yet. I might go for a bachelors in computer science or graphic design or something like that.
I'm into anime and video games, and I go to a couple of anime conventions each year. As a result I'm very interested in Japanese culture, and have been learning the Japanese language (I was taking a privately taught class, but recently I've been going it on my own). I'd love to visit Japan some day, or maybe even live there for a little while.
I've joined Sparkpeople because I want to lose all the weight that I've gained since I started college six years ago (which is over 30 lbs). I also want to do it before graduation, which is May 7th.
