The Cooking Cute site isn't updated anymore, but it's got some great ideas and recipes. The great thing about bentos is the variety of foods. You eat less but get more enjoyment and satisfaction from your meal. Enjoy!

Two great places to start are "My Lunch Can Beat Up Your Lunch!" a bento blog, and Naomi Kijima's "Bento Boxes," which is a great, easy to follow cookbook for bento (almost all the recipes are for one-person, bento-sized meals). Welcome to Bento Buddies! Check out the Flickr Group even if you don't join, it's super cute.

Hi all! My name is Lisa and I'm from Massachusetts. I just recently got interested in bento and I want to learn about it. I am a foodie through and through and love cute things, so it seems like it would be good to both of those interests! I plan on hitting up a small japanese merch store nearby when I can - I guess they carry cheap bento boxes. If anyone has any websites, books or other resources I can consult for ideas, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!
