Hehe! I know what you mean. DD's lunch was so cute that other kids were wanting it too. If it helps any, try to be sure to pack a few favorites. He'll be less likely to share if he really wants in his lunch. I started asking both kids what they wanted, and that helped. But don't forget to let him try new things. In fact, let him try one at home before it goes into lunch to decide if he likes it. Did this with my kiddos with the babybel cheese, and they adored them. But, each kid only liked one particular flavor.

And then I introduced my daughter to chicken curry riceballs...the other kids won't touch them and she adores them. Now she wants them daily. (headdesk)

Hi Tinker,

Thank you for the warm welcome. Daiso been around my area for several years, but I never went there. SIL mentioned it was a Japanese discount store and had interested stuff, but I still didn't bother with it until I read up on Bentos.

DS comes home with an empty Bento, but that doesn't mean he eats it. I think he has been sharing his food with other kids. Yesterday, he got 2 bentos (my nieces, too!) and both bentos came back empty and he was asking for an afternoon snack! Not sure how to handle the eating stuff. Make it plain and he won't touch it, make it fancy and other kids get it.

Hey Tabby! We're so delighted to have you! (And I'm sorry it's taken me this long to say hi, I'm usually more on top of things.) You have a Daiso! I am so so so bloody jealous! I'd kill to have one nearby. I'd be broke probably, but I'd love to have one.

I think making the kiddo's lunch look cute will help you get more of the lunch down him. If it's still a persistant problem, I'd slowly work the snacks out of the lunch, one item at a time. I had to do this with my daughter who would go straight to the treats and then leave foods she actually liked.

Anyway, glad to have you, and keep us updated on how the son's lunches are going!

Hello Everyone,

I found this site last week, researched bentos over the weekend and decided to begin pack bento lunches for my family to save $$ and to eat better.

I have a very 7yo picky eater. I would pack stuff for him, but at the end of the day, I would discover he didn't eat anything except for the snacks.

Yesterday I went to Daiso (japanese discount store) and got several bentos and accessories and let him pick out which items to go into his bento. He was really excited and hopefully he'll eat his lunch today. He liked the lion soy sauce vial and orange house salad dressing container. They were really cute.

Today is my second day of eating 'bento.' I feel full after eating, even though it doesn't look like much. My 630ml bento looks small! My son's bento is about 400ml.
