Yeah it wasn't cheap ours was a 4.5kwh system so it's not small but we shelled out $20,000 for it. There are some places that allow you to pay it off, at least over here there are. We had some money put aside and it seemed to be the best way to use it

I would love solar panels on the house and a solar well pump. It is so costly though so far we have not been able to get on board with it :(

Holding thumbs for you Arlene, hopefully you will have some relief at least. Lucky you being able to put something in the ground now. It's been so hot here, my vegetable garden has only herbs left in it, I have been making Basil Pesto since before Christmas.....guess what I gave as gifts, lol. Now freezing it because everybody I know has had there fill of Hannah' basil pesto! Will have to wait until April/May before I can plant anything.

Juleen, glad you ok now, must have been a big scare - I would have freaked out, my Mom had a stroke in her early fifties, still a bit wary that I might follow. Please take care and make a BIG note of that antibiotic name.

All good on my side, I promised myself to ride this year out with all it's doom and gloom on the financial side. I shall stay in this Zen state until money flows freely again and the material world takes over, ha!

Arggg back problems, is there anything worse???

I took a turn in November and had to stay the night in hospital. I had an abcess in my tooth and the antibiotics the doc gave me made me go all itchy and make my heart race. Frightened the crap out me I tell you. I now have a Cardiologist for my very own (and a nice young one at that) who is lovely and has put me on beta blockers to slow down my heart rate. My normal heartrate was pumping along at @ 85 beats per minute ... way too fast. It's down to a lovely 65 to 70 now and the tablets make me feel very calm and serene.

We had our first Christmas without Mum, it was different but we got through it.

Not much else to tell (probably just as well) we have been very quiet over here.

The critters are all doing great . I have 6 female goats now and they are due to start kidding in the next week or so. Our Winter has thankfully been very mild :) I work out in the garden today turning the soil and getting it ready to plant some cool weather things :) Beets and chard etc.
Am waiting on another Dr to set up a new procedure to fix my back.I guess they neutralized the nerves that are causing the pain.I am hopeful. But sure it will just be temporary . Seems I have degenerative disc problems along with arthritis sooooo BLAH Just gonna have to make the best of things .
HOW HAVE YOU BEEN? WE HAVE ALL BEEN SO QUIET

Hi Kim, welcome to the team.

I have a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and a lonely (and geriatric) Lovebird. With 3 dogs and 1 cat it adds up to a happy house with spoilt pets.

emoticon Kim! emoticon to have another animal lover on the team, glad you joined us.

Love conures, all birds are unique but conures has a special place in my heart. I still miss my Jojo girl(Jenday) after all this time, she was the best bird ever and I was blessed to have her in my life.
My current feathered family are Billy Boy, or should I say King Billy, 9 year old Senegal and top of the pecking order, then Sonny the Amazon, followed by Beebee another Senegal.
There are also 2 dogs, Gigi(Jack Russell and Ninja(Boxer), would love to fill my house and yard with more critters like Arlene but will have to wait until retirement, sigh.

Arlene, how are your lot coming along with the cold weather? hope all are still healthy and coping.

Hannah

My name is Kim and I am owned by a male Jenday Conure named Norman, a female Sun Conure named Jodan, a 12-week-old Newfoundland puppy, and an 8-year-old mutt. Throw in two little boys, a husband, and a tank full of fish and you get an idea of the zoo that is my home. I have had birds all of my life, most of which were unwanted, strays, or "problem" birds. Norman is 17-years-old and is epileptic. He has been on seizure medicine for more than a decade now and is doing well. Jordan was a rescue whose leg we think was broken at the breeders and she was then shipped off to a pet store. When I saw her she could not even get to her food dishes to eat. She is 11-years-old and is Norman's second love; I am his first :). My birds are the alphas and rule the dogs. Our sweet mutt Ellie will even let Norman snuggle up against her for a nap and she does not move until he does. Darwin, our soon to be ginormous Newfoundland, is very curious about the birds but has been very good about keeping his distance after being nipped a few times.

I look forward to getting to know fellow bird/animal peope on the team.

Cheers,
Kim
