i'll bet each of us here started out looking down the path and felt scared or discouraged..."it's such a long way, will i make it?" we asked ourselves. i know when i started SP, i had trouble visualizing success, so i just focused on those things i *could* do: water, exercise, fruits/veggies. i blew it many times, but picked up and kept plodding along. when i needed support, i came here & did what you are doing. in the end, i succeeded more than i failed and that's how i got here. not quickly, but the process changed me in ways i never expected.

good luck with your program...we'll be here to welcome you when you reach your goals!

I am all for encouragement. In Febuary, after "Chocolate Valentines", i needed motivation very badly, and recieved it with posting on sp, and listening to podcasting about motivational weight loss. I also discoved what eating habits (ie diet), I needed to do consistantly to achieve a 1/2 to 2 pound loss every week. I have been going ever since...and know that i have a lifestyle that will keep me fit for the rest of my life. I can't stress that enough, for everyone to strive to find what works for them, then keep it up!!!

Hang in there and follow Gem's motto. It will never let you down. If it helps you my mom lost 100+ pounds when I was 7-8. 30 years later she still has 70 of it off. Age and health have kept her going. Her gain of 30 was also to do with age since she decided that she could not keep up the pace forever and has found a comfortable weight at 67. She has had a hip replaced and is still goign strong with walking 4x per week and ST 2-3 times. It CAN be done and we will be here for you. This forum is a great place to be motivated so feel free to drop in as you need. My profile is public as well so feel free to look around it.

Don't set your limits until you have tested them...
