You lost it before, you can do it again! Maybe you need a new challenge to spark you into it?

Thank you. I am looking forward to being at maintenance both with excitement and concern. Concern because I don't want to have happen again what has happened now after reaching goal.

I started 3/6/07 at 149. I have lost almost 22 pounds.

Welcome Lindaanne2, it is not too early to join, in fact, some have joined when they still had a few lbs to lose, just to get an idea of what maintenance would be like.

Congrats on hitting your goal, and making it thru the holidays! As you will see if you read the other threads, most of us have had ups and downs like you have, and we are all in the process of figuring it out together.

Come join us on the main discussion thread, and peed around some of the other threads and see if they interest you.

I don't know if it's too soon for me to be here. I did reach my goal weight of 126 two days before Thanksgiving 2007. After that my weight has been up and down. I'd like to be in the range of 126-129.

I started 3/6/07 at 149. I have lost almost 22 pounds.

Yes, making the transition from loss to maintenance is a big one. I started to freak out about maintenance about 5 lbs before I reached my goal. I knew I wanted to committ to keeping the weight off for the long-term. But that required a different mindset from working towards a specific weightloss goal. So it totally makes sense to join a group like this as you begin to start thinking about what that transition will look like for you.

I have to echo these thoughts, lots of us here have reevaluated our goal once we hit maintenance, and many of us lost additional weight after starting to maintain. It's actually pretty common to lose more after upping calories for some odd reason.

I'm thinking of lowering my final goal after maintaining my weight for over a year (with some bumps in the road). I'd really like to lower my bodyfat %, and that will require more weight loss in my case.

Nope, not to early at all! Welcome!!

I actually changed my goal weight twice... LOL!

I also think it's helpful to "explore" the world of maintenance before you get there... heck, I lost another 5 lbs after I went on maintenance, so if you've only got 5 lbs to go... well, maintenance might just be the cure. LOL!

Great job and no you are not too early. It is best to know how much maintenance will change your thinking and that you may freak out a bit. Knowing some of this ahead of time will make it easier. And you are right on everyone being so positive. THat is the best reason.

No way, you're not too early! In fact, many people re-evaluate their final goal weight after reaching their original one. I myself am thinking of losing a few extra pounds. So you're more than welcome here! Congrats on your weight loss so far! You should be proud :)

I've been at this new healthy lifestyle since Dec. 9th, '06. I've lost 34 1/2 lbs so I'm just about at goal. However, I think I'd probably like to lose an additional 5 lbs. So am I too early? You all just seem so positive and I feel like I'm in maintenance even though technically I may not be. emoticon
