So glad to see you come back.

It can be really hard to face the process of losing weight again, after a regain.

And a lot of folks just hide away in the shame and pain and never come back. Heck, it took me 15 years before I could get the guts to re-remove the 100+ lbs I lost in my 20s...

It just isn't part of the fairytale we're lead to expect when we lose the weight "and she lived happily, ever after..." LOL

So yeah, we're all here together, in the gritty trenches, helping each other sort out our individual issues of maintaining when they come up. And what I love the most about this team is how many long-term maintainers we have here, who can offer advice and support.

I just love browsing the spark pages in our Hall of Fame, for example, to see what they are up against and how they handle it.

GOOD FOR YOU, for your return to Maintenance! So glad you have returned and are in this for the long haul. It's inspiring to know we can struggle along and make it work in our own time.

emoticon back! Maintenance can be a bit more difficult to figure out, at first. It does take some time to get into a routine and then you go out to dinner or to a friends bbq and it throws a whole new spin on things. Hang in there emoticon emoticon It may not be easy, but it's worth it!

Welcome back! I agree that "maintenance" is an entirely different animal--a very fickle thing. I wish it were easier, and I keep hoping that it will get easier. I have been maintaining for two years, and am always glad to hear one more story, one more tip, from this awesome team! I look forward to "sparking" with you!

emoticon I've been at goal for over six years and not had much trouble staying there....this year has been different. I'm 8 lbs away and it's a struggle every day. Maintenance is very hard!

Welcome back and congratulations on being so close to your goal,

I find being a member of this team keeps me honest and on the right step in maintaining. I hope it will help you in the same way. Try to take one day at a time and remember we are all in this together!

Welcome back, Barb! Maintenance isn't a journey like weight loss is--it's a high-wire balancing act with its own special challenges! Once I start going below goal, I get cocky, relax my standards, and gain again. It would be so good to find a happy medium, but at least I'm staying right around goal instead of 10 pounds over!

This is the second time I've had to claw my way back to my goal and I took 5 years to do it - so boy do I know what you're talking about, Barb. But hey - better to be getting back to goal than to be going away from it, right?

each time we learn more, too.

emoticon Barb! and welcome back! I think many of us have been exactly where you are (were). I know I did the exact same thing. It's one thing to make goal and another to beat the odds and keep it off. That's why this is my favorite team and I plan on sticking around for the long haul. Thanks for joining us - looking forward to getting to know you better.

Hi and welcome back! That is Awesome! I am sweating and all I did was walk the dog in 85 degree heat and 70 degree humidity. I feel beat up. I am now home to the air conditioning. I want to go to the movies and I will walk the dog three more times. Best wishes on reaching your goal and staying with us. My name is Barb and I was here a year ago. Let my successes go to my head, had to go back to basics and play "catch up" with my weight loss. Today I am 4 pounds from my goal and declaring my independence from the weight loss journey and transitioning into maintenance.
