You are All right. Start small do 10 minutes of exercise a day and work on making it a little longer. Use the exercise and nutritional trackers. Try to drink water. Try to eat healthier foods, I stopped eating processed foods. By eating more fruit and vegetables. Eat lean protein. Linda from bean town

I started by making one small change at a time and then building on it: tracking my food, drinking 8 glasses of water, getting more activity in my day. Trying to change everything at once is overwhelming; small changes add up, though, if you keep at them.

I started by signing on to Sparkpeople every day. When you first sign up for Sparkpeople, you get lots of help on setting goals and working toward them. I take advantage of the food and exercise tracking tools and weigh myself once a week and have watched my weight go down
to my goal of 110 and have stayed there for 6 years by continuing to be very conscientious to record my food and exercise each day. emoticon

Start NOW! I love Spark for community but do not use the tracking tools. I just use the No S diet and have had very good results. Most members here on maintenance use the Spark program. Did you not get referred to first steps when you joined? I can't remember since it's been so long!

If anything, I would say the first thing is to stop random eating, the kind of eating where you're deciding on the spot to eat because a thought comes into your head or food is just available. Have a routine of eating times and eat at those times, within reason. Put all the food you are going to eat on a plate or in a bowl and really savor it. Don't add to it after you're done. How do you do that? By just doing it! And remembering that you aren't happy with overeating, so something's got to change. Try not to worry about weight loss first. Vow to form sane habits with food. If you truly need to lose weight, it will come with consistent, sane eating of more and more high quality, unprocessed foods and less and less processed, sweet and salty foods. Good luck!
