emoticon to a great team. A change in circumstances or routine is always difficult for weight loss or maintenance. But I'm sure you'll be all right!

It is so nice to meet you too! You sound very active to me! New findings about diabetes say that moving everyday not sweating and standing more than sitting will keep you from being a diabetic. Any moving around is good and adds up to exercising. I have a lawyer who decided he was going to lose weight and now walks everyday during his lunch hour. He lost a lot of weight. He may have started by sweating from his walking but now he is not sweating from his walking. He looks great. You can do this too! Linda from bean town

emoticon SHAREBEAR1963 and good to hear from you PAM_COOPER. I find that I've received lots of support here. I really don't "enjoy" working out, but I sure love the feeling I have when I stop! My girls have me doing Insanity with them and I hate to admit it, I am "liking" it. Sometimes it takes a while to figure out what exercise fits us. I love to walk and my dog is very motivating! Glad to have you both here!

Thanks for the encouragement Linda, sounds like you have a built in motivator.
Note to self-get a new doggie.
(I did have one, but she passed away recently.)

I don't dislike exercise . . . well, sort of. emoticon I like practical exercise i.e. like walking the dog. . . if I had one, digging dirt & pulling weeds, loading firewood, washing windows, cleaning the car and mall shopping! Sometimes I do a dance video with my daughter and sometimes we go hiking or biking. It is just not structured, consistant and routine. I don't know that exercise NEEDS to be structured or routine but it does need to be consistant and adequate.

I certainly don't feel that I qualify for much above sedentary on most days and I don't feel like I am firming and toning, nor getting my heart rate up like I should be. BUT, I AM a WORK in PROGRESS! Nice to meet you Linda!

Wiggle room on my weight! Getting consistent with exercise tipped the scales . . . in a good way~just don't think I need to lose any more--just get firm and fit!

Hi Pam, I am new too since January 1st. I walk my little doggie four times a day 15 minutes to 30 minutes each time. I also exercise to DVDs and have taken classes on Tai Chi. Exercise can be fun like, ice skating, bowling, or dancing. Best wishes on learning to love exercise. Linda from bean town emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Welcome, I am new too! (a couple weeks new)
I don't post regularly, but browse and read regularly--
This is a great place for inspiration, education, motivation, and socialization.
Whew! It's all that!!! emoticon . . . and a box of chocolates, sugar-free, of course!

I still am working on the motivation to exercise. Ugh!
(I even changed my ticker--so I wouldn't be reminded that I didn't.)
Losing the weight (this time) was the easy part---exercise not so much.
But, there IS hope! emoticon . . . and SP!

Hope the SP site helps you get in or stay in the maintenance zone!

Glad you joined. It is a project to determine the true amount of calories that ones body needs to maintain weight I noticed that the first 6 months my weight went up and down. Found that forcing myself to step on scale every week has helped me to both maintain and determine the amount of calories to eat.

The other thing that worked for me was to eat 6 small meals. It is easier to wait 3 hours than to wait 5 to eat.

Good luck to you. Hope you are feeling better. Know that you can maintain.

Hi everyone!!!

I have decided to join this time as I have been at my target weight for awhile. I go up and down a bit as I have trouble sticking to my eating plan, especially lately. I injured my leg and have not been able to work out, so I have been eating terribly. I should be able to get back to workouts very soon, but I want to get my focus back into perspective, now.
