Welcome to the team!
Research is what I am doing when I dont know what I am doing.

Welcome to the team and congratulations on all your success. Only you can decide where you're ultimately happy settling in on maintenance. I personally strove for a weight that was within a healthy range that I found sustainable. After I got to the top of my range, I removed the focus from my weight (even though I still weigh almost daily to see where I'm at) and focused on tweaking my healthy habits instead. That involved a bit of experimenting with increasing and decreasing calories and figuring out the happiest balance of eating and exercising to stay at a stable weight. I wound up losing a bit more weight, but would have been content if I hadn't. Long-term sustainability was my ultimate goal and so far, it's working!
Good luck on maintenance and please let us know if you have any questions or need a helping hand.
My name's Tina. I lost more than 90 pounds between March 2010 and March 2012 and have been keeping if off ever since.

What you described reminds me of what I've heard said before - to view a plateau as practice at maintaining. Holding your weight steady for 8 months is not bad, given how many people unfortunately bounce right back into a regain cycle. So !

Thanks to all of you!! I will get to learn people's names and hopefully find a great friend or two or three to help me do this--and I can help YOU do this. Sparkpeople are great people and this web site is a gift to us all!!

I log my food and try to make educated decisions about my food choices. I also try to get in some type of exercise daily. When I lost my weight I lost too much so I had to play with my calories to find a place were I didn't lose anymore, but wasn't gaining, either. and this group is a great place to help you! Welcome to the Maintaining family!
I just keep doing what I've done to lose it too. If you are still losing, you can slowly increase your food again, but I would suggest only small changes to find where your happy medium is.

You will love this team! Our members are wonderful resources! Welcome!
I would just keep on doing what you're doing and see if you maintain doing that! I'm so busy that I barely think about feeding myself lately, which seems to have taken care of maintenance for me. But I'm still tracking and walking at least 5 miles a day minimum.
to this great team!

I am almost 56 and weight less than I have in at least 20 years! I'm down to 144 from 186 for my high and I never want to go above 150 again! So I'm nervous. I have been stuck on a plateau for 8 months in the past--but don't know how I got there! I expect to keep tracking and exercising but I don't really need to lose any more weight--so what do I do?
Anyway--I have joined here to learn from all of you!!
