It's such a good feeling!!! emoticon I was so worried about the maintenance phase and have found this team to be full of support and inspiration. I'm only 3 weeks into maintenance, but plan on staying here!!!

I made just getting into my normal BMI range my goal and it has been almost effortless to maintain. I'm pretty sure I'm still there, but I weigh in only 4x a year now, so I won't know for another week, but my pants are fitting even a little looser. I'm just not willing to do anything more strict, so I stay, but you may discover after maintaining for a bit you could still happily reduce your intake. Just enjoy the holidays.

Welcome and congratulations! I did it the slow way too, and it has been the first time I have been able to maintain and to reach an ultimate goal over the course of yo-yoing for about 20 years!
This is a great team- you'll like it here.

Welcome to the team and congratulations on reaching your goal, VTRICIA! I also made a slow transition to maintenance after getting out of the "overweight" category and continued slowly losing for a few months after reaching my initial goal. That put me 10-15 pounds below the top of my range and that's where I've been maintaining since then. Have a look around the team threads and links and please let me or one of the other leaders know if you need anything. If you have a specific question you'd like to put out to the team, please feel free to start up a new discussion thread. Welcome again and many congratulations!

I've been looking forward to joining the group for months! And now I'm here, I have no clue what to say. Well, my goal for 2012 was to try for 165, and I was 164.75 this morning. It's taken my the whole year. But that was my plan, so I'm actually really surprised. I knew it would be slow going because I was nursing a baby.

At first I just wanted to lose the weight I'd put on since I'd had the baby, which was like 17 pounds; back out of the obese range. But as I experienced success and saw the success of others, I began to think maybe I could do more. I decided to shoot for a healthy BMI. I'm 5' 7.5" and a lot of programs don't do half inches, so 165 is still slightly high but I think I can definitely transition to maintenance.

My goal now is to increase my lean bodyfat percentage to 76 (from 79). I also want to be able to do a Pullup and run a mile. I wanted a fitbit to celebrate reaching 165, but I got it a little early. It's helped me be motivated to do cardio on a daily basis. I will also continue calorie cycling, just eating at the bottom of my range for two or three days and the top of my range for one.
