Thanks everyone. Good to know I found where all the other yo-yos hang out emoticon . Funny thing is that I was never good at playing with the yo-yo but sometimes I feel like I'm the Tommy Smothers of weight loss.

I'm looking forward to learning and sharing many years of maintenance.

Oh kiddo--before if the scale wasn't going down, it was going up, up, up. Sticking with Spark and interacting with all the supportive people have made it so much easier (not EASY, but easier). Check in and stick with us!

I hear ya about 3rd time being the charm...this is the third time that I've lost weight (second time via SP...my fault, not theirs), and I know this is the time that will stick, because I know I'm doing it for the right reasons.

Welcome to the team, though I have to leave this with ILL - INI! At least you're not a Michigan fan.... ;-)

Hi, Dave!
I'm a fellow former yo-yoer too. I think this was my third time while using spark too- and the first time to reach goal- only time to maintain the loss. This is a great team for keeping me grounded, and I think you'll find that too!
Welcome!

emoticon Dave! What better team could there be for a scientist than this one? I've treated weight loss and maintenance with near-superstitious methods in the past, but this team's focus on numbers and fact finding helps keep me grounded.

Welcome, Dave!!! This team is a great source of support and motivation for me. Maintenance definitely is not easy, but it does get easier the longer you do it. And the benefits are very much worth it. =)

Hi Dave and welcome to the team! There are lots of people here who've yo-yo'ed up and down over the years, myself included. I've found it really helpful to use my past failed efforts as learning experiences to figure out what not to do in maintenance and have really benefitted from being active on the team and learning from the wisdom and experience of the long-term maintainers here. Good luck finding your way on maintenance and please let us know if you have any questions.

This is my third time at or near my goal since joining Sparkpeople. However, this is the first time I've gone into it looking beyond that target number. Getting there was actually the easy part (I've done it so many times it can't be that hard emoticon ). Maintenance is the hard part and I'm hoping the strength of the Sparkpeople community will help.
