Hi Jane,
I'm new to this team too, however, I am in maintenance now for about the last 6 months. You are so smart to think about maintenance before you meet your goal. I didn't and have been struggling, but staying at my goal weight. Maintenance is a different mind set than when one is in weight loss mode. A psyche adjustment as there is no thrill of stepping on the scale and seeing a weight loss, but still the agony of a weight gain.

Good luck to you as you lose those last few pounds! Before you know it you will be maintaining! Carol

Hi and welcome to the team! I think it's a great idea to start thinking about maintenance before you get to goal--in fact, I just wrote a blog about the things I wish I had known before I started maintenance:

Please take a look around our team page and let me or one of the other leaders know if you have any questions. If you're interested in more articles and blogs about maintenance and the transition, you might want to check out our Team Links, which you can find under the Team Stream on the right side of the team page. If you have a specific question you'd like to put out to the team, please don't be afraid to start up a new discussion thread.

After purging my kitchen, buying healthier foods, getting into a daily exercise routine and going from walking to running in the past 9 months, I have about 15-25 pounds left to go in my weight loss journey (lost 92 pounds so far!), and so I figured it was time to start preparing for the next stage of this journey: maintenance.

I've gotten to the point where healthy eating and exercise is just a part of my daily life, and though I know I will still have to be vigilant about avoiding the slippery slope of my old habits, I think I'm ready to take on the challenge.

Looking forward to meeting and getting to know yas! :)

Jane
