Hi and Welcome to Spark People. Very nice to "meet" you. This is a terrific site with lots of wonderful, friendly inspirational people and sound common sense advice. I do agree that this group focusses more on the challenges faced by members who are near or working at maintaining goal. You might be better served at first by joining a group with similar goals who are actively in weight loss mode. Please check out the Food Tracker and Fitness Tracker- they are very useful tools. As well, reading other people's inspirational blogs would also help you along the way. Wish you much success in reaching your goal for your anniversary.
