Welcome, Deena! You're definitely not alone in continuing to have a diet mentality in maintenance. It took me several months before I felt comfortable as a maintainer and I'm still feeling my way through with more than six months down. At first I couldn't bring myself to start increasing my calories because I was afraid it would lead to me going off the rails altogether. Eventually I started increasing them slowly, just 100 a day at a time, and found that the sky didn't fall. Once my weight leveled off, I stopped adding them, though I do still experiment with different combinations. I've found I prefer doing a weekly calorie average as opposed to eating more or less the same amount every day, which means I'll eat more on some days and less on others depending on what's happening in my social life and my activity levels.

Hi. I'm Deena from Jerusalem and I just joined the team after reading an inspiring blog from someone who credits her success to this team. I've been at goal for several months, but I still have that "diet mentality" and have never really been in "maintenance mode." I look forward to learning a lot and getting good advice and support here.

The past is our definition. We may strive, with good reason, to escape it, or to escape what is bad in it, but we will escape it only by adding something better to it.

Hi Robin, Wow, you have quite a success story! I'm new here too and it looks like the place to be to keep on the right track.
The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running.

Welcome, Robin, and congratulations on your success! Have a look around and please ask me or one of the other leaders if you have any questions. If you have any questions you'd like to put out to the team, please feel free to start up a new thread. Our team is quite active and there are lots of members who are very happy to share their wisdom.
My name is Robin and I'm about 5 lbs from my weight goal. I've started the mental transition (took me forever to realize I'm thin) but I haven't started the physical transition (increasing my calories) yet. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.
Have a fabulous Sunday,
Namaste
