Congrats on your loss, and welcome! I've lost about the same amount as you (111 for me), and am on the fence about losing a little more as well. I've been sidelined with an injury plus an insane period at work, and the illness and death of my father -- so maintaining has been my focus for most of the last year. Just finally getting to the point in my injury rehab that I can start exercising for real again, so I may go for another loss. On the other hand, I do feel comfortable at this weight, am healthy, and know I can maintain it even under stress -- so I'm just going to see what my body seems to want to do, and if it wants to stay here, it's all good.

Welcome again, and I hope you're enjoying the journey so far!

Starting Weight: 260 lbs. (November 2010)
Quasi-Maintenance: 165 lbs. (June 2011)
Goal Weight: 150 lbs. (reached December 8, 2011)

Size 22W to Size 4

Currently maintaining within 5 lbs. (+ or -) of goal. I weigh daily, but also use a tape measure and the fit of my clothes to guage how well I'm doing.

This is where emphasis is placed on the journey. I also learned how to embraced patience and not to freak out when my weight fluctuated. It's natural! The most important thing to remember is to celebrate your healthy lifestyle, where you've been, and where you are going! I wish you all the best and good health!

Congratulations and welcome to the world of maintaining.... which as many have said resembles the world of losing. I came to Spark at goal and have used it as my maintenance tool. I track my food and fitness everyday. I weigh once a week. I have found the longer I maintain the more people around me want me to stay successful. Often my family will say,"Oh, that's not a good restaurant, Mom won't find anything she can eat." I always tell them of course I can and I do. It's amazingly simple to order off menu.

Lost 65 lbs and maintained since 2006.

Welcome and well done with your weight loss!! The main thing is listening to how your body feels. It will tell you what its 'happy weight' is. I have been maintaining for over a year, and my body seems to always stay around 121, and I feel and look good at that weight, so its good enough for me! The first thing is to relax. If you have truly learned your healthy lifestyle and are living it daily, you are doing the right things to maintain. I weigh in just once a week to make sure there are no upward or downward trends. I still diligently track my food and fitness though, its a great check that I am still doing the right things and also I think its fun and gives me goodie points so I can give my Spark buddies goodies. It also allows me to plan any special occasion splurges or meals out so they don't become huge disasters. I never feel guilty at eating anything and deny myself nothing. But I am careful not to indulge too often. I am not an eating out kind of person, I prefer eating my food at home because I like what I eat the best :)
Good luck with maintaining!

congratulations on losing 113 pounds. Don't play games with having a few pounds to ply with. That is sabatoging yourself. Keep doing what you are doing. You will find what works for you. Keep on top of calories or points, keep weighing and measuring portions. Try adding something to your food plan and see if that puts weight on, if it does then you know how many calories or point you can have to maintain your weightloss. I have been on maintence a long
time and have continued to monitor my intake of food because if I don't I start adding things slowly at first but then "oh well" I have lost 75 pounds and I deserve it mentality. Then when I got on the scale I had gained back 27 pounds. Now I took all of the weight off and am watching my intake very carefully

Welcome! My "secret" to 8 years around goal weight is to keep tracking everything! I don't think I'll ever be able to just wing it. I also ended up about 10 pounds less than my original goal - you'll just figure that out as you go along.

Congrats and welcome!

1) frequent monitoring
2) immediate correction

You may adjust your goal up or down over time. I hit a new low 2+ years into maintenance.

Many of us still weigh every day and track all of our food. If I don't do those things the upward creep happens...

Never, ever, EVER give up!

From BMI 53 (336 lbs) to under 30. Now aiming for less than 20% body fat.

Congrats and welcome! It's really quite normal for those of us who get to that frontier called "maintenance" to ponder whether to continue losing or not. I joined 4 pounds before reaching my original goal, what, two years and several months ago (January, 2010). And I didn't know whether I would lose more or how to maintain.

Many of us start "feeling our way" to maintenance, which is pretty much like the things we did to lose the initial weight, but with less hoopla. It's learning to live in our new body size, adapt to our new levels of activity, and in the end, our bodies tell us when they have arrived at "home" weight.

Mine turned out to be about 25 pounds less than I thought! Surprise!

So, welcome, take advantage of hanging out with some great folks who helped me over my original jitters, into the land of maintaining! emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

I'm thrilled to be able to be on this team after having lost 113 pounds and reached my goal weight. I'm still undecided whether to begin this arduous task of maintenence or to lose 7 pounds more to have weight to play around with whilst I'm trying to figure it all out! I've read so much that it's harder to maintain than to lose so I'm feeling really nervous about it all. Any tips from successful maintainers would be gratefully recieved!!! Thankyou all and well done to all of you on your successes tooemoticon
