Hi Mel! Welcome to Spark! Like you, I also joined when I hit my weight loss goal - Spark has a lot of helpful resources that are helping me learn how to live a balanced life - with proper diet and exercise. I'm tiptoeing my way into real life eating after coming from a regimented diet plan.

Good job on staying within range!

I know exactly what mean. I just reached maintenance too and boy has it been a huge mind boggler. I did not expect the anxiousness I'm experiencing. It really caught me by surprise. However, little by little, I am starting to become more comfortable, but, it is truely an adjustment.

Hi Mel. Welcome and congratulations for reaching your weightloss goal. Maintenance does indeed take a different kind of mindset and like most things, the longer you're at it the more comfortable you'll get with it. I don't think there is anything wrong with weighing more than once a week. This way you can take immediate corrective action should you have to.
Happy maintaining.

Welcome, Mel! Definitely with you about the challenge of maintenance... and this is a great team to help keep that focus. Congrats on reaching your goals, and best wishes on making the transition to a true maintenance mind-set.

Hi. Just joined and thought I should intruduce myself.

I got to my target weight in late November, and so far seem to be able to stay within a pound or two of it either way, but to be honest I think I'm more anxious about maintaining my weight than I was about losing it - I managed to restrict weigh-ins to once a week when I was trying to lose the pounds but now I seem to hop on every other day !

That's a big part of why I'm now using SparkPeople fully. I first joined in May last year, but I was already using a different website for my food and exercise logging at that time so it seemed best to stick with what was working and I just used Spark People to log my weight and to read some of the articles.

But I feel SparkPeople has more resources that help towards having a healthy lifestyle generally rather than just healthy weight loss, so I've recently switched my food and exercise logging to here and am and trying to become a bit more involved.
