I originally set my goal at 175, then dropped it to 160. This was back when I was well over 250 lbs. I hit 160 on April 15. Only 2 more days, and I will have maintained at or below my goal for ONE MONTH! This is huge for me. Since I started this journey at 328 lbs., it IS hard to imagine myself at 160--but I enjoy the surprise of it everytime I look in the mirror! I PRAY I can maintain this weight. I do plan to returning to Spark every single day to keep motivated. I know this is when the hard work really starts, and I'm up for it!

Welcome to the team and congratulations on all that you've achieved so far! i also joined the team a few pounds before hitting my goal. my reason for this was because my main reason for joining SP was to help with maintenance and this team has been great for that. just getting on SP and reading the articles and interacting with others has made a big difference. good luck and i look forward to hearing about the rest of your journey to whatever you decided your goal will be.
Welcome!!! For me, it was a lot of positive reinforcement in my mind.....like I am soooo worth it; I can do it!! Talking out loud in good ways only and keeping junk out of the house........that calls your name, and you just have to eat it! I only buy ONE of something that I really really know I cannot keep in the house. It is a new lifestyle!! YOU CAN DO IT!!
Barbara .....that's what my friends call me! Never cared for the name Barb.
Make it a blessed and healthy day! IT IS YOUR CHOICE!
Remember how special you are and how you are soooooo worth it to be healthy and fit!!

Savannah, my original goal weight (the one I was four pounds away from when I joined At Goal and Maintaining team) was 145. I decided I would let my body tell me what "home" weight range was, and now I'm sitting in the low 120's, which is where it seems to be happy. I got here sometime around last August. I didn't even have a glimmer of a dream of this number... it was more about maintaining healthy habits... the number is a side effect.

CrazyMango, welcome! I started this journey with the goal of a new lifestyle --a healthy lifestyle. With Spark guidance, I started building healthy habits, slowly but surely. I've never thought, "what can I do to lose these pounds?" the goal was to build healthy habits that I can continue with for a lifetime. As I lost, I was happy to get to size 12, and kept on with the healthy habits. I kept eating the foods and quantities I'd been eating. I couldn't see eating more than I'd found satisfied me, I wasn't killing myself with workouts I couldn't wait to stop. Keep on keeping on ... That was my motto. Size 10s..keep on keeping on. Size 8s ... Keep on keeping on. I stabilized there, and nearly 2 years later I keep on keeping on! The success is choosing to make healthy choices ... 1 by 1...day by day. God bless you as you make the next choice, and the next, and the next!

I've been playing with my goal weight too. I am 17 lbs below my original goal weight and 7 lbs below my revised one which put me in my correct BMI. I've been overweight most of my live so also had a hard time settling on a goal weight. Since the 100 lb mark wasn't far off, I decided to go for it. Tomorrow is when I weigh myself and I'm guessing I might be there. We'll see.
Honestly, I am not sure what my goal weight is, lol. For now, I just want to be able to say I've lost 100#. It seems like alot of people are in the 120s on here but I think I want to be around 150 or 160. But, it is where some people start, so I don't know. Either way, I think this will be a great team!
Congratulations on your success! I joined when I reached goal but really wanted to lose just a little more. Feels great to be able to "graduate" to this team although I still intend to keep a presence on my previous teams to encourage others and remind me of the path I had to take to get here. Together, we can maintain our newfound good health!
Thanks! I feel I can start learning how to maintain now and it will just take care of itself.. or I hope, lol. If it doesn't, a friend of mine is going to help me reach my goals.. we are both Exercise Science majors and he wants to personal train me. Bring it on!
