Welcome to the team, Kelly! I'm from TN, too. Sparkpeople has enabled me to stay at goal for four years now - the first time I've been able to do that in a long life of gaining, losing and gaining again. When I think of all the diets I've tried that were not ones I could live on the rest of my life, I'm so glad I found Sparkpeople because I've discovered how I can make healthful choices of things I LIKE both in eating and in exercising. I'm small-boned so try to stay in the range of 1200-1500 calories and have found that that's just right for me. emoticon

emoticon on reaching your goal weight, Kelly!

Sounds like you have a reasonable maintenance plan. I pretty much found a comfort level for eating and let my body dictate when it was "done", and it was a little lower than my original goal. So I wouldn't worry too much if you continue to drop a few (as long as you don't drop below a healthy BMI), slowly, until your body tells you you're really done.

I love this team. Met several great spark friends here... hope you find the same is true for you!

Hello everyone! I'm so glad to have found this team. I've been a member for about a month now but just started maintenance this week so now I feel I really belong! I've lost weight several times but have never been able to maintain the weight loss. I'm really hoping this website and team will help be a motivator to keep the weight off for good. I think that one of my mistakes in the past has been that once i lose the weight the diet ends. this time i'm going to stick with the way i've been eating (i follow the south beach diet) and add more snacks in and allow cheat meals once in a while but not let them become a habit. so far this week the extra snacks have been great. i haven't had any hunger and when i weighed in on friday i had actually lost another pound. i also will be keeping up with my workouts which is walking on the treadmill 3x a week for an hour and weight lifting 3x a week for 40 minutes. i give myself one day off a week to recover and let my body rest. Anyway, i'm looking forward to getting to know others on this team and find success this time in my maintenance journey! emoticon
