I just joined sparkpeople today. I'm 47 years old, married one child. I'm hoping to meet other people who are successfully maintaining. I live in Eastern WA.
We have in the last year switched to eating organic and I have started minimalist running, hoping to enter my first half-marathon in March. I also love horseback riding, dogs, dance, ice skating, and many other sports. I also enjoy the outdoors, gardening and reading.
I'm hoping to find other people who are interested in living an active life style and enjoying many different kinds of physcial activities.
My goal is to find out if it is possible to maintain longterm without counting calories, weighing, or micromanaging any other aspects of a healthy life style.
I would like to focus on eating healthy (clean) foods, exercising in moderation (1-2 hours/day), avoiding pollutants in the environment and nurturing emotional health through meditation/prayer, journaling, music and art.
A supportive environment like these message boards is so important in my opinion because most of us are surrounded by people who don't live a healthy life style.
You can talk to God all you want and that's great, but the changes happen when you start listening to him.
