I've been a member of SPARKPEOPLE for quite some time. But this year, I think it is time to re-think & re-invent myself. When I started SPARKING I weighed 191.5 lbs. My lowest weight was 156. Today I weigh 160. Before you think I am vain to choose POWER1938 for my new name, let me explain. I read a book called 50 Best Ways to Simplify Your Life by Patrick Finney & Heather Mitchener. The book suggested that you create an acronym for yourself so that you can readily see if you have met your daily goals. You jot them into your day planner & cross the letter off if you have done that thing. OK! So, P=prayer & meditation; O=offer service to God & others; W=work to bring order into my lilfe; E=exercise mind & body; R=read, relax, & re-group (i. e. plan). What about the 1938? That's the year of my birth, as I will be 73 in July.At my present weight, my BMI (which is what I am interested in) is 24.3. I don't want it to get over 25, but I want a little cushion in case of illness (hopefully, none!) So at 160, I am entering my "red zone." I must cut calories & fat, and exercise a bit more. So here's to success in 2011: MINE and YOURS!!!!!
