Congrats on losing a whole other person! You achievement is awesome. I am sure you will apply that same dedication to maintaining and not go back to old habits. That's what it's all about. Maintaining the new way of life. Keep up the great work.

emoticon to the Team and big emoticon on your incredible weight loss. What you have achieved is awesome.

I found the idea of maintaining quite challenging at the beginning but people in this Team have been very helpful to me. Marsha (OLDMOM3) has given good advice. I found it reassuring to keep tracking and to increase my calorie intake very gradually. I still eat at the lower end of the recommended range and have been at a more or less stable weight from January.

Good luck with your progress. You have already shown that you have got what it takes!

Welcome, Pookie!! BIG CONGRATS on your awesome weight loss.

For the most part maintenance just means doing what you have learned to do so well, only with a little more food. You'll probably want to add food - 100 calories per day or so -- for a week and see how you are doing. Then add another 100 if you are still losing until you are stabilized. It sounds easy, but it took me months!

I also found setting a new goal helped. For me I really added more cardio. It all went together -- I had more energy so I moved more and I could eat more.

Under Healthy Lifestyle you'll find great SparkPeople articles in the maintenance area. (I don't remember exactly what they called it. If you can't find it, SparkMail me and I'll find it and send you the link.)

Again, Welcome to the At Goal and Maintaining Team. If you can lose that weight, you can keep it off. It isn't always easy, but it is definitely worth it.

Just keep doing what you've been doing...don't return to old habits and you should be fine.

Congratulations on your success!

This team has been very helpful to me (joined in January, approaching my goal, scared of maintenance)! Hope it helps you, too.
