I have a similar story to SPARKARINO and OLDMOM3 and would echo their advice. SP has helped us so much and it can help you too.

Welcome to SparkPeople and the At Goal and Maintaining Team! After years of yoyo dieting, I think I may have it -- at least one day at a time. The nutrition tracker, meal plan suggestions, SparkRecipes, fitness tracker, strength training generator, all the great articles, plus a community of caring people who understand are just great. Best wishes to you for reaching your health and fitness goals! -Marsha

You've come to the right place, SPARK4ME7. SP helped me lose the last half of my weight loss goal, but, more important, this is where I find my inspiration to keep it off. Best wishes for getting to and staying with your goal. It is worth every bit of struggle and challenge.

I was a yo-yo dieter for most of my life and tried so many 'diets' but they were always only short-term successful. The Spark program with it's emphasis on taking responsibility and setting small sustainable goals for yourself has helped me to lose and keep it off for 2 years so far. Take the time to keep a food journal or use the nutrition tracker, to see when, where and why you are eating as you do. When you are ready, set realistic goals for yourself, drink lots of water, get more activity into your life even if its just a 10 minute walk a day, and remember to reward yourself with non-food rewards along the way.

The only difference between 'try' and 'triumph' is a little 'umph'!

I'm so glad you found us (spark people and the team). Living healthy initially was an everyday battle for me, and still can be, but it's getting easier everyday. You'll find that you'll love the healthy everyday changes you make, whether it's finding healthier versions of your favorite foods, working out everyday, or even meditating or doing yoga for mind and spirit. Think of this as a time to focus on YOU. Take the journey one day at a time and constantly educated yourself on different ways to eat better and stay active. It can actually be very fun! I enjoy putting together healthy foods and doing different workouts. My main advice is to stay active; this will motivate you and give you energy all day. Hope this helps...welcome aboard!!

Hi all, this is my first time engaging in an online program for health and fitness. I look forward to learning and being motivated by people who share the same desire to be healthier. I have struggled with food and weightloss for longer than I care to admit. I'm tired, although often find myself giving up and accepting my weaknesses. I don't want to accept the struggle or anything that isn't going to be beneficial to me or my health. Words of wisdom for this newbie is welcomed! Thank you and good luck to you on your journey.
