Welcome! and Congratulations.
I was encouraged by OldMom3 to join this group when I was within five pounds of my goal.
I'm now within two and realizing the best weight for me may be less. I'm using my waist measurement to tell me when I'm there. Fat around my waist is not a healthy thing.
I haven't been a member long. I agree that this seems to be a very friendly and supportive group.

Made it into the 130s today! So excited to see that number, since it has been 15 years since I weighed that! I now weigh less than my 15 year old son for the first time ever!

I have just 4-9 more pounds to go to be in my goal range! I am so excited in the changes I am seeing in my body, even with slight weight changes. I have really stepped up the strength training this month, and can see a definite increase in definition and muscle tone!

Thanks again to everyone for your support and encouragement! Hoping I can maintain this through vacation this week (leaving tomorrow, and come back the following Saturday)

Congrats, KT! Here is where you find out how to stay at whatever weight you choose, and avoid the despair of re-gaining. You don't ever again have to step on a scale and wonder what happened.

Welcome to maintenance!

emoticon Welcome to the team and congratulations on your weight loss so far. It's a great idea to joing the team before you're at goal because maintaining is a different challenge.

I think that a key challenge is to find your natural 'home weight'. This is where can maintain a comfortable weight by balancing your food intake with your activity. In my case I was surprised that this was about 6 lb below my original Spark goal and 13 lb below my Weightwatchers goal.

This team is a great place to experiment and find what's going to be right for you for the rest of your life.

May I suggest that when you reach goal, stay there for while so you can learn what it is like to maintain your weight-loss. It is hard work, harder than losing it. There are more lessons to be learned. Enjoy the joys of reaching your goal and looking great and all the compliments you will be getting. In the future if you want to lose more you will know when you are ready. Stop and smell the roses

I am very excited you are doing so well. I too reached goal on my set date, but I then realized I wanted to loose more, which I did and I feel so good. Remember, you will know when you reach the weight you really are comfortable at and don't worry about maintaining until you get there. It feels so good and I know you can do it. Way to go!!!emoticonemoticon

I am getting very close to my goal range, so I have started thinking about maintaining. I am 5'4" and currently 141. My goal range is 130-135, which is what I weighed in high school, but haven't seen since I had kids. My oldest will be 15 on Tuesday, so it has been quite a while. I hope to get below 140 this month and goal range by the end of the summer!
