There are lots of ways to get your exercise. I don't happen to be a gardener, but I walk every day and take care of two babies next door...age 14 mo. and 2 mo....so I get lots of lifting and picking up toys, etc. Staying active with what interests you is a big part of keeping the weight off.

Congratulations and all the best. During winter I do more exercise in the house. Coach Nicole's DVD Fit Firm and Fired Up is a great way to get in some really good exercise and no extra equipment is essential.

First of all, a major congratulations to you for taking off the weight and keeping it off for so long. I'd say you have found what works for you. Ramping up the exercise is a good idea. Did you read in the national news this morning than women need to get 1 hour a day of exercise every day to maintain their weight without calorie deprivation? Gardening can do a good bit of that. When I get out to the garden (5 acres!), I'm sweating bullets in no time. The good thing is we gardeners have something beautiful and/or tasty to show for our "exercise".

I also go to the gym, but the garden is my first love.

Again, congratulations and best wishes for those last few pounds and a healthy body.

Mary

I lost 42 pounds three years ago. I've been able to keep it off except for 5 pounds, which I gained over this last winter. I certainly intend to lose that! But more than that, I've let my physical fitness go down the tubes this winter as well. So my real goal is to become much more fit! I love to work outside gardening, so that is the primary way that I'm able to trim down. I can't wait to get out there and get my hands dirty again and shed those pounds and inches! Wish me luck!
