to SP and the group. Chart your food when you can, read articles on portion control, etc. Great stepping stones.
Welcome, Clair. Start with small changes and work your way up.
I'm sure you will find your way around
your weight maintenance. It can at times be a little tricky. Every person & body behaves & re-acts at it's
own pace. It might take you a while, but eventually, you will find what works best for you.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS AND CHOOSING THE
I'm afraid I don't have much advice as I just reached my goal weight this week, but I intend to keep using SparkPeople to keep me on track to a healthier lifestyle.
It is hard finding time to track results, but you're right that it will help you. I track in morning (for breakfast, lunch and snacks during the weekdays) and then again after work for dinner and exercise. I guess it's the same as exercise - you need to make time for you.

Congratulations on reaching your goal. Checking in with spark is a good way of keeping on track, so keep on doing it. This is a good team with lots of support for each other to maintain our healthy lifestyles. Welcome!
One of the most effective means for working with that moment when we see the gathering storm of our habitual tendencies is the practice of pausing, or creating a gap. We can stop and take three conscious breaths, and the world has a chance to open up to us in that gap. We can allow space into our state of mind.
Welcome to SparkPeople and welcome to the team!
We're all learning weight maintenance together!

I didn't "make it happen" the first time, I "made it happen" the last time!
Find some teams to join that have things that you can relate to. Also find some goals to work on while in maintenance (ie learning about healthy foods, cooking healthier, find a good workout program etc) I find that very useful (I feel like I am still working on something, lol). You'll get it this site is fantastic -- I will be in maintenance as of 2 years come this Feb and I give a lot of credit to SP for helping me stay there. I have done P90X and ChaLEAN Extreme to help me gain strength and I have taken all the emphasis off of the scale weight and put all of my focus on being a healthy person! Best of luck to you!!

Thanks for the tips! THere are so many tools on this site; I'll hopefully get the hang of it soon!
Welcome Claire. Well done on your weight loss and your decision to join the team. I'm a fairly new maintainer - in my 4th month - but I find that the Nutrition Tracker and Fitness Tracker are wonderful tools. It's well worth investing some time in setting up the Nutrition Tracker with your own favourite foods if you haven't done so already. The articles are informative and the interactive message boards like this are helpful. Good luck with your plans.

I'm not sure how to go about this - but here it goes: My name is Claire, I have joined SparkPeople to help me lead a healthier lifestyle and to motivate me to maintain my current weight and to follow a healthier diet. I struggle to take any time to focus on these things because of the demands of University. Therefore I need to stay motivated and to actually find the time to log into SparkPeople, pay attention to my diet, workout etc.! This is a bit of a jumble of thoughts but there it is!
I hope that this new project that I am embarking on works and helps me adopt a new lifestyle. And I would be happy to hear from anyone who has been able to do so!
