I've been on Sparkpeople since summer, but am just now beginning to "meet" people and find my niches. Brief info, in June of 2008 I weighed 230 lbs; I've been maintaining around 125 lbs for about three months. Confession: it's not the first time I've lost over 100 lbs--(did it with WeightWatchers back in 2004) but I gained it right back and had to lose it again! I'm sick to death of yoyoing up and down the scale like I've done for decades. I'm scared of maintenance, but I want to manage that fear this time. I'm 49 years old now. I've rediscovered my love for running; just completed a marathon a week ago..and am planning on running 50k and 50 mile races before I turn 50. --heather

My name is Maxine and I have lost over 215 lbs in 4 plus years, I have been at maintenance for over 1 1/2 yrs doing Weight Watchers. I switched about a year ago to counting calories instead of points. I sometimes feel like I have this maintenance thing down pat and other times I feel I am not sure if I do or not. Looking for support and ready to give it, share knowledge and learn from all of you. It is nice to meet you all.

I've been on the team a week or two, but don't think I introduced myself. I am Marsha, grandmother to Natalie, my 2 year old granddaughter I keep 5 days a week.
I've battled weight all my life, but right now I'm winning! I want to make sure that this victory is for good and my fat is vanquished!
I'm at goal weight, but my fat percentage is still too high. I'm trying to build muscle and reduce body fat now. Through SparkPeople I'm doing strength training. Also, the nutrition tracker has really helped me reduce sodium and get the proper amount of fiber and fat. I still have trouble getting too much potassium and not enough magnesium, folate, and iron. Will keep working on it.
Have really enjoyed the support of other people trying to be healthy and not burdened by fat!

to the Team and on getting to your goal!
I have not increased my calorie count. I am one of those strange people that have issues getting to my minimum some days.

Hi everyone, I just joined the team and wanted to introduce myself. I was 143.5 lbs when I started spark on 1/12/09 and reached my goal weight of 120lbs in September.
This site and the community have been great in helping me reach my goals. I tend to gain weight in the Fall & Winter so joined this team hoping to get some extra support.
I'm already having a hard time staying in my calorie range but I never increased it after reaching my goal weight. After browsing some posts on this teams message boards it looks like most people increase their range to maintain. Luckily I haven't gained yet :) but I should really explore exactly how many calories I should be consuming to maintain my weight. Excited to be part of the team!
