Welcome, Mattie! Congratulations on your weight success, and kudos to you for your "second career". The thing I miss most in retirement is the regular people contact, and I find I have to work hard to create / participate in volunteer work and the like, or I would stay home and do puzzles all day. ;-)
I just joined a program at our local library, teaching adult literacy -- Not sure if it will be a small class or one-on-one; they do both and have not assigned me yet. I can't wait to start!
Best wishes to you...

...there is a place in you where you have never been wounded, where there's still a sureness in you, where there's a seamlessness in you, and where there is a confidence and tranquility in you. ~John O'Donohue

WTG on your fabulous weight loss Mattie!!

I applaud you for going back to school to become a teacher!

You might consider making a SparkPage, not as difficult as going back to school. Just go up to the orange bar at the top of this page and under MY TOOLS click on Start.

There is just so much on that one page, you will be there a while. But SparkPeople is extremely user friendly.

I am so glad you posted. We are here for each other!

Came to Sparks at 173 pounds but now at 5I '7" I am 162 lbs, and shall soon have 79 years living with mood swings and life's ups and downs.

Never thought I'd become a teacher, but after a couple of husbands, doing practically every job in restaurantes, and four kids I borrowed the money to go to college and become a teacher. I have taught English at every level from grade seven through University in three different countries. To my surprise I loved it and miss it now.

I read, write poetry and letters to my friends, hopefully some of whom I can win through This forum.
