Hi Everyone! My name is Cordella. I met my goal some time ago and have been able to maintain it for a while. However, recently temptation has become a problem for me. I'm looking for some encouragement & motivation to stay on track.

Hi my name is Sharon.

I reached my goal this morning and I am just thrilled. This may be a little premature, because I have noticed that my weight bounces around a little, but I'm just soooo excited!!

Hi and welcome to Sparks and the team. You will do just fine here. We do have a wonderful support system. Post often and ask questions and you will be able to keep it off this time. Good luck on your journey!

God Bless and Hugs!

Hi and welcome. I think the thing I have found apart from the tremendous support and advice on Sparks is that I now have a lifestyle which consists of good nutrition and exercise, not a diet. One of the habits is to weigh myself to make sure I'm within my limits. From past experience I know that if I stop watching my weight, I'm on the way up, up and away. Well done on your achievements and all the very best.

been maintaining for 3 months now and I've decided that the trick is constant vigilance. I will need that vigilance from now on.

Welcome to the site, and congratulations on your accomplishments!

Wow.. Thank you so much for the instant feedback! From what you're saying it sounds like just what I need here. I can completely relate. The yo-you world is surprisingly lonely. It often feels like I was just made wrong , like a freak of nature, and no one understands. And you're right, I do always feel better when I can help others with what i know. I feel better already!

Spark has been a great support for me to lose weight in a healthy way. I came to this team before I reached my goal weight and even now I've gained a few pounds. I'm working to get them off. For me this team is about learning to have a healthy lifestyle that isn't focused on dieting/losing. I knew that being part of this team would be important for me to stop the yo-yo and stay consistent. And even after gaining a few pounds its forced me to not give up and gain everything back, but to stop and look at what I'm doing and make the necessary changes to continue to maintain.

Welcome to maintaining! The community support of Sparks has been a tremendous help to me, both when I was losing weight and now that I'm maintaining my current weight. Being able to blog and post messages venting and seeking help in a health-minded community is priceless. Also, being in a position to *offer* support, advice, and encouragement has been a big boost to me. On days when I'm really struggling, I'll go to the Fast Break and Panic Button forums and look for threads with no or few replies...posting a kind word to someone else who's struggling really does help *me* too, even though it sounds kind of cheesy and Pollyanna-ish, LOL!

Anyway, best of luck with maintenance!

I know it shows I haven't reached my goal. But my goal weight isn't important at this time. I'm 5'3 and have been yo-yoing since I was 6 years old (in a family of 7 girls and no boys... we start dieting young) I go from 145 to 120 every one to two years and it's getting harder to lose each time. It also effects my mental health. When I gain weight, although I'm not really even fat, I get very very depressed. My weight is down now, I'm off my depression and anxiety meds... and I want so bad to keep it off for good. I'm usually a loner dieter. But thought I'd give this community support thing a try to see if it helps me.
