LUCUBRATRIX, congrats on reaching goal!!! I didn't end up reaching my original goal either, but it's because I wasn't realistic when I chose it. I didn't factor in muscle either, which sorta just happens if you lose weight the right way and exercise :) At 6 ft, I'm sure you're absolutely tiny in the 160's! 18.5% body fat is phenomenal, the healthy recommended is 21 I think! ("Ideal" anyway, 18.5 is healthy too :). Anyway, congrats!! I think this calls for some new pictures :)

Thank you, Sarbah and Porkchop! I'm thrilled to be here, and hoping to maintain in your good example!

Porkchop - ha, that's funny! I'm a lot taller than average... my father is 6'6', so I definitely know where I get it from (hint: it's not my 5'3" mom). :)

So far, so good with the fledgling maintenance! I've been following the SP guidelines for easing into the full maintenance calorie range, meaning I've been eating on an intermediate range of 1500-1900 since Tuesday. (1200-1500 was my weight loss range, and 1800-2150 is my totally sedentary maintenance range as based on a more accurate BMR estimate calculated from my lean mass.) So far, have avoided using the extra calories as an excuse to binge or eat anything not-healthy, although I have been allowing myself dry cereal more often than I had been (it's a food that I almost always end up eating 2 servings of to be satisfied).

I'm planning on adjusting for exercise calories by adding those on to my sedentary day calculations according to my activity because they're going to be changing a lot since I'm starting marathon training!

Congrats Lucubratrix!

I just realized that we are different genders but the same size! (I don't know what my body fat is.)

Congratulations on making your goal! Maintenance is scarey in the beginning, but after a while you get used to it. I'm sure you can do it! I'd say "good luck", but it's more "good management " than good luck!

Devilishone, I'm so sorry to hear about your family tragedies. I think we can't expect perfection from ourselves EVER, but I think that's especially true when facing enormous tragedies. Weight and metabolism have a lot to do with stress levels, too, so there's even a biological reason for it. I hope you recover from the tragedies emotionally as well as physically!! Good luck with the journey!

Congratulations to you. I'm so happy for you. I hit goal and it was the most wonderful thing, for so many reasons. Then I had a couple of tragedies in my family and my weight has slipped back on again. I'm really trying hard to get back to goal and you have energized me. Thanks and again, congrats!

Thanks, Elayne Mae, for the kind wishes! It's wonderful but also SCARY!

PS - I am so in awe of the tiny numbers on your weight ticker. At 6', though, anything that close to 100 lbs is never going to happen for me! :)

Thanks, Wendy! I am the opposite - I had been NOT tracking for almost a year, but now want to make sure that I am adding in more calories in a sensible way... especially since I'll be doing a lot of running, and I need to be eating enough but not too much.

Good luck with your venture away from tracking - it can be very liberating!!

Congratulations! I too have been tracking for the past year to make sure I'm on track and am just now stopping my tracking to see how I do. Good luck with the marathon training.

I've been lurking here for a while, since I've been losing the last 10 lbs VERY slowly since the fall. However, I finally arrived at my goal a few weeks ago, and had my %body fat tested today via underwater weighing to confirm.

Result was 18.2%, which is exactly the target I was shooting for - in the healthy range, but not so low that fertility starts to be an issue (at least, I hope not - there are a lot of conflicting studies out there).

So, now, I'm setting my ticker to maintenance and finally bidding farewell to the old goal of getting into the 150s. It's a really funny feeling, after a year and a half, to say, "Okay, I'm really done now!" Mentally, very different from "Just a few more lbs to go!"

I'm gearing to be doing a lot of tracking in the upcoming months find ways to add in more calories in a nutritious way onto my usual meals... and I'm also celebrating by starting marathon training for November! I think my rewards are the nike+ ipod kit I just bought, and I'm hoping to buy a really awesome cocktail dress this week!
