It really is about creating a better life for oneself. I've been watching a lot of Discovery Health channel lately, and there are so many people like us who change thier lives by eating healthy and end up feeling better than they ever knew was possible.

Hi Joan and welcome! I'm in the same boat - at a healthy weight for me. I've maintained for just over a year and to me, that's been the most important part!

Hello & welcome VBALLJOAN. I find the that members on Spark are very helpful, supportive and motivating. I think that is what has been key to most of our successes. I know if it wasn't for the tools on this website and the warmth of the members drawing me back to this site, I don't think I would have been able to make this a lifestyle versus just a "Dare I Eat That".

Hi Joan, I totally agree with how important the support is. This is the first time in my life that I've made it to goal. So I've never maintained a healthy weight.
I live in North Carolina too. In the triangle area.
Looking forward to sparking with you.

Hi folks...

I'm pretty much at the place Owlwho is. I'm in a heatlthy BMI range, having lost 30 pounds and gotten down to a weight close to what I was in college. I've found in the several months I've been on Spark that it's useful/helpful/necessary/VITAL to have support from folks who have the same goals that you do.

So, while it would be okay to lose 5 more pounds, it's not necessary for me it's about maintaining and being pleased if a few more pounds come off as a result.

So, I'm hoping y'all will be as great for me as other Spark teams have been. And I live in the South, so y'all is an integral part of my vocabulary.
