Thanks for the welcome, everyone. :-) I'll stick around. The ideas here seem truly helpful.
I have come to feel the same way you do Rachel..I now realize that for me it is about being fit and healthy and not a number on the scale. You are doing great and you are right, this is a great team with a whole lot of knowledge and support.

I agree with your approach, RachelPixel. I did the same thing. I've reached my "fantasy" goal weight of 125 FOUR TIMES -- only to have some kind of crisis or stressor come along and I end up gaining back 15lb.
This time, I've decided to maintain at 130 for at least 3 months (March 2008) and then to reevaluate if I want/should lose more weight. If I'm maintaining and physically active and feeling great, that is worth more to me than a lower number on the scale (that I might not be able to maintain).

Have you read the articles Maintaining a Healthy Weight (parts 1-3)? Good info for us. Maintaining is not as easy as one might think, to change from the losing mode to the maintaining mode requires to be aware of the differences. I agree with you that this forum is very helpful and I love it too. Stay in the right track! Take care.

Rachel - glad to have you here. Maintenance is great and so is your attitude - no wonder you have done so well.

I decided I should be maintaining and stop trying to lose weight a few months ago. I figure I should concentrate on staying fit and getting more fit, and if a few pounds are lost in the process that's fine... if not, that's fine, too. I love this forum. I've been reading for a while to get a feel for the group here, and it seems to hit home when it comes to my concerns and feelings at this stage. Thanks for being here!
