I think most new maintainers want to track for a while, it does put the limits in your head, and set up the habit of how much you can eat at a meal or snack. I find my eating is much more regular and regulated during the week, I have regular eating times, and amounts. Weekends are another story, but I'm reall trying to stay mindful of what I'm eating and when I'm hungry, thirsty or just bored.

Thanks! I was actually down a pound today! I think if I eat the same things I am eating now I can eventually stop tracking at least some of the time. Definitely planning to get a buffer first though!!! My range for maintenance is so many calories a day though I don't quite trust it!!!

Congratulations on reaching your goal!
I think it's wise to make the changes gradually - I kept tracking and stayed at the middle of the new range that SP suggested for the first couple of weeks. Now I feel comfortable eating at the top of that new range, too - just not every day, so I guess you could say I'm cycling too, as you are!
I'm also taking a break from tracking food and finding that a good thing. I'll go back to it as soon as I see the scale move too far in the wrong direction!
Blessings, Michelle

Thanks everyone! I have not changed anything yet, I have been doing calorie cycling anyhow so today is a 1500 day, so will see how things look in the morning, the calorie cycling has been great so will probably continue it but play with the calories a little!

Congratulations on reaching your goal and welcome to maintenance. I was also very nervous about adding calories for the first few weeks but you will "settle in" at a calorie range and weight that works for you.

Thanks! I do calorie cycling and think I will continue to do that as it has really helped, it just would be nice to be able to relax a little, now I have hit my goal I don't yet feel anything has really changed (except I lost 47 lbs lol) but I am sure I will be able to relax a little!

Our stomachs have gotten used to small amounts of healthy food. If I hit 1400, it feels as if I have definitely gone over. Welcome to the team!

in reaching your goal. Like you I was a little scared when I reached goal and actually went down lower to make sure I had some wiggle room. Hit 119 but that was just a bit low so now my goal is between 120 - 124. It is hard to find the right balance of calories but what I do is the days I have a long workout I eat more and when I'm only doing about an hour I stick to around 1400 calories. Seems to be working. I was nervous at first too. I added calories slowly and actually lost a few more pounds before I leveled off. Congratulations on your loss. Remember, we are here to help and support each other so stay involved!

Congratulations on hitting your goal!! Don't worry, most of us freaked out a little when we got here. It's scary to think of the extra calories you will be eating when you've been in weight loss mode for so long. Just take it a day at a time and you'll be great!

I was down to 140.1 today so figured thats close enough, I did check the team out a few weeks ago but decided to wait until I was truly in maintenance mode. I am going to try and maintain a range between 135-140 so am easing into this VERY slowly, am a little scared to put my toe in the water right now! I have been calorie cycling for a while though so will continue to do that and see where it takes me. I have been losing so slowly lately and this is probably a good weight for me so am not going to go out there and start eating tons of calories!
