My Hound is allergic to corn as well as wheat. In fact, he also has issues with soy, and barley. I was surprised how many dog food/treats have all of the above when I was searching for something he could eat. That was a few years ago. We have had him on Natural Balance and he has done real well with that food/treats.

A dog wags his tail with his heart.

May I always be the kind of person that my dog thinks I am.

Welcome and thanks for the information. My DIL has a co-worker who makes homemade treats for dogs and she sells them at our local Farmer's Market and my dog loves them (but they are a bit pricey).

Thank you for the information...I will look into the natural snacks, but thank goodness my dog has no allergies to wheat...I am curious to see how to make some of the natural snacks, especially with the carrots... That should be interesting.

I had not heard of these. Whenever I consider a new treat I google the ingredient list for the product. These all seem to have wheat in them which is a very common allergen for dogs and not healthy for people, either. If you want to learn more take a look at the book "Wheat Belly" by William Davis.
Dogs can have allergy symptoms that are not very obvious to the eye just like people. The symptoms can be brought about by leaky gut syndrome which lets particles get into the blood stream where they cause an autoimmune responses potentially affecting many organs including the brain. Too much for one post but you can find a lot online about this.
Generally the safest treats for dogs are those we make ourselves from pasture-fed raw meat (jerky-type) or small quantities of raw vegetables like carrot pieces.

You can talk to God all you want and that's great, but the changes happen when you start listening to him.

BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN OTHERS.

Anyone every hear of Annie's Pooch Pops.. My dog loves them, and hes hard to please. I heard about this company at a pet expo last week. I bought the peanut butter canollis and bacon and liver hearts. I ordered some thru the internet, and they came in record time.
